This just in from CNN...

Apparently even the fans of Joe Sixpack and his Gold-Digging Gutter Sluts are being stabbed in the back by Fux.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I personally find it to be poetic justice that the fans of one of these idiotic reality shows are turning on FOX when they show their true colors.

Several people in my office (yes even corporate America watches this drivel) were upset that the episode Monday was some sort of recap show. I laughed all day as the fumed and ranted.

I hope that people do boycott the show and that the ratings bottom out. It would be fitting retribution for visiting this garbage on the American public in the first place.

This is very petty and immature of me to say--

Makes me want to go get on the Joe Millionaire boards and say, "Y'all have no idea. You have no idea what actual betrayal feels like. Furthermore, you couldn't possibly understand. It takes vast amounts more intellect than you have to become involved in good television. You deserve what you go, you lot of lowest common denominators. I consign you to the bottomless past."

Petty, petty, petty. Feels good to think it out loud, as it were, though.

People where I work talk constantly about Joe Blow and American Idol (and I'm in Birmingham so American Idol is now the official state television show). I get snarked at too. "Oh, that's right! Sarah doesn't watch [insert le-se reality program]. She's still upset about Firefly."

But we are better than these people, right? Above them.

Somebody give me an amen.

Amen. We will not snark (loudly) at fans of these shows, and we will not become trolls.

(But can we still snicker in private?)

AMEN! I like what you said - you wanna be in my gang? Apparently FOX viewers deserve a great deal of disrespect.

"I consign you to the bottomless past." That will definitely get some use!

Yes, I want to be in your gang! Can we get cool jackets?

George says "Hi." He works with me. He's standing here, somewhat new to this whole "internet" concept.

I gripe all the time in public...to anyone who will listen about Firefly and how great it was. I also constantly gripe about it's cancellation in my online journal. Hehe.

I love public forums.

Unfortunately, this will work to Fox's advantage. Notice all of the other networks suddenly rushing in to cover this "story" in one way or another. Ah, free publicity for Fox. As angry as the people who watch the show are, they're hooked. They're not going to miss the finale. So, what did Fox accomplish? People who missed that episode are now going to be more interested in it than ever to find out why everyone is complaining. It also provided Fox with an opportunity to remind people (advertise) when the finale is.

Remember Fox feeds off of negative energy (publicity). It makes them stronger.

You are correct, good sir.

It's like that spammed message which this board received a couple of days ago.

The more people who responded to it, saying, "F#&K off, don't spam this forum," actually bumped the message up and allowed more visitors to read it.

Sad but true. It's the train-wreck syndrome. Everybody slows down to get a better look, therefor causing more accidents, thereby causing more slowing, it's an unending cycle. I bet if we could get 50% of the population to ignore reality shows and change the subject quickly when those topics are brought up, it might just go away.
Example:

Person A: "Hey did you catch the season finaly of Joe Stupid lastnight?"
Person B: "I'm a banana."

Notice the lack of negativity in the response of person B, but the introduction of confusion techniques (I'm guessing people who watch those shows are easily confused). Eventually this may lead to enough confusion that the people who fit in the Person A catagory will forget to watch the show entirely. With no negitvity to feed off of, Fux will eventually wither and die. In my dreams anyway.

Good plan. Confuse them don't fight them.

Very funny.

I had this conversation this morning.

Person: So I don't suppose you saw Joe Millionaire last night?
Me: No.
Person: Well, it was pretty interesting.
Me: I'm gonna go get juice.

Good to know I was using the proper technique, even if I didn't know it.
