Big things are coming! I reckon we are fast approaching becoming a true space faring race. Its an exciting time to be alive. I probably dont have enough time or money to get into space myself (although I havent given up all hope) but the chances are good for my kids going into space.

Thank the lords of Kobol for people with vision like Branson and Rutan.

Coooool. Suddenly, living in New Mexico sucks a bit less.

"Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle."

Appears not many find this news interesting enough to comment on. I thought science fiction fans might be excited when science starts to catch up with the fiction..

My bad.

Maybe there was just a lof of other everything else going on so fast it slid away? Like the 437th post about the impending collapse of the 'Verse as we know it. Too many chicken littles?

I think it's awesome.

Now. Where's my Veritech?

Shiny.

I like that they put it in New Mexico, given that there's already a tradition of strange things coming out of the sky in that area. At least be convenient for any visitors.

I cant wait to see the scaled up SpaceShipOnes and their motherships! The motherships will be HUGE!

Lots of other companies are claiming their spacecraft will be launching around the same time.

No, it still really sucks. I just spent the last two days driving back and forth from ABQ to Las Cruces and back. Every time I would pass "the future home of the New Mexico Spaceport" and you know why they are putting it there? because it is an ugly scrap of nothing surrounded by more nothing. The idea of a Spaceport is super cool, but even the hope of outerspace cannot make NM a better place to live.
That is why I live my life in the library and only come out at night--less deseart to see when it is dark.

Because I am an American. And what does an American want? Democracy? Capitalism. I want to sell out and settle down. For one day only, it's a blue light special on Aisle Three. My wormhole technology... and a free set of steak knives... for all the tea in China. And anything you can imagine to pay me... welcome to my cold war.
