Does anyone know how to get updated DVD sales figures? I know Firefly has made the top 10 best sellar list on Amazon in the past...But X-mas time is the hottest sales time for DVD's..Firefly and Serenity have been holding in or near the top ten for at least a couple of weeks now(currently #2 and #7)...I would wager that more copies of firefly have been sold this past week then any other week since its release.(I know FF has been higher on the top ten list then 7 but not during such a hot selling time)
Having updated sales figures for Firefly and Serenity is powerful ammo in trying to make a case for the show/movies appeal.

I tried boxofficemojo.com as well as many google searches and cant find any updated figures..

Thanks

I hope Walmart has copies of Serenity out at Midnight!!!

I dont know where to get dvd sales #, but i do agree that this is the top dvd selling time of the year. I also think that Firefly at # 7 is impressive!
If you look at Firefly's sales history on Amazon
Dec 19 2004 Avg Rank 166
Dec 19 2003 Avg Rank 25

Being at # 7 Dec 19th 2005 is huge.

By the way Serenity at #2 is nice too!

Here is a link to the TOP SELLERS page on Amazon. It gives rank, but not dollars or anything like that.

Looking through that site, I noticed that the Average Customer Review for Serenity was 4.5 stars, and Firefly was all 5 stars. I looked through the site some more and noticed that not a lot of DVD's have all 5 stars. Arrested Development, Seinfeld, and one of the Family Guy collections were the only ones that I noticed.

I'd love to know just how many copies of the Firefly box set have been sold after all this time. It was over 500,000 in 2004, and the set has been in the Amazon top 10 for most of the year this year.

You have to check www.hollywoodreporter.com under home video. It has charts for weekly DVD sales, rentals, and VHS sales. We will not know anything until at least a week later. Also, I think it comes out with yearly sales figures as well or you can check www.billboard.com. I created a thread last night with links.

Here is the thread:
