What would a Holiday Episode have been like?

You know how most shows have Christmas oriented or holiday oriented shows... at least a reference to the holiday in the ep?

Well, I wonder if we had gotten an episode near the holidays what it would have been like?

With Book being Christian -like, and Mal's reference to Christmas... I figure they celebrated it. So....

Are there fanfics already out there about that?
I confess I haven't checked out any of the fanfic yet.

I think Kaylee would have been heavily involved in the Christmas celebration. She's the type that loves celebrations, and I have a feeling that Christmas might be her favorite.

Jayne prolly would have been involved, but I have a feeling he'd forget to get someone something and would think up a last minute gift...like a grenade or something. That would be about his level of involvement.

Kaylee would have made everybody something...something cool out of leftover ship parts...or bought the cheap things at the ports she thinks are so rich, but are really crap. She also would have decorated the whole ship in lights, to the great annoyance of Mal and Wash (power outages? Rewiring some controls to get the lights right?)

Inara would have bought everyone something really nice, but would have been gone, allegedly to visit a client, but that wont be the real reason.

Mal would have been crabby, since the holidays would be a reminder of his issues with god. Plus, he really wanted Inara around, but of course, would never admit that. But, at the end, he would have done something totally cool for the crew to make up for the fact that he was being a complete shit for the previous week.

Book would have done some bible readings with anyone who was interested, and baked cookies. He would also be secretly helping Kaylee decorate the crap out of the ship.

Wash would have borrowed money from Mal to buy something expensive for Zoe. Zoe would get pissed because Mal would tell her what Wash was up to. As a couple, I think they would have bought some card game or some other entertainment thing for the whole crew.

Simon would have tried to find something really special for Kaylee, but would somehow get something totally inappropriate. He would also have tried to remind River about their Holidays to try and bring back some of the old fun spirit she used to have. (Insert Tam Family holiday flashback here.)

Jayne...well...I think he would accuse Kaylee of acting like a baby with all the decorations and stuff, and make fun of everybody for getting into the holiday spirit. It would then turn out he was upset because his mom was supposed to send him a package and he never got it. It would then turn out to have been lost in the mail...and he would get it Christmas morning by surprise. Maybe the box would even include a scarf to match his cunning hat ;)

Oddly enough, most of the Christmas stories up seem to have Mal being curmudgeonly and Kaylee being the driving force.

Based on how badly Simons birthday party turned out, could the ship/crew even HANDLE whatever horrible thing happend at Cristmass. Well... Of course they would and it would probably be the greatest episode ever.

Ah, it would have been somethin' to see a Christmas episode, eh?!

A lot of the same ideas I had. Shepherd saying a prayer ( not out loud), Kaylee stringing lights,
Wash and Zoe coming up with special gifts for each other, and Mal being a scrooge.

SameErtia, Christmas with Jayne is gonna be my first fanfic. I'll let you know when I get done.

River would creepily reveal everyone's gifts before they can unwrap them and Mal would get so pissed he'll threaten to riddle her with holes. Simon would then tell Mal to pick on someone his own size, prompting Jayne to flashback to some traumatic Christmas memory from his own childhood and curl up in the fetal position. Then Kaylee would burst into tears saying, "We allz supposed to be family, why can't we just get along." Simon looks blankly at her for a second before saying limply, "Kaylee?" but she runs from the room. Inara would then angrily confront Mal and say, "You wouldn't know Christmas if it lifted it's skirt over it's head and danced a jig," to which Mal would reply, "Are you saying River is Christmas?" Meanwhile Wash is desperately trying to convince Book the "little Hoban" River revealed to everyone as Wash's gift to Zoe is the name of a cigar. Zoe has long since left the scene, wordlessly and red-faced, to hide in her and Wash's bunk. Merry Christmas Firefly style!
