Lemme paint a picture of a nice girl, a little conservative in dress and manner and a little too well steeped in the notion that 'geeks are bad, geeks are weird, boo on geeks'. That was when I met her at a swing dance in Colorado, when we decided that we REALLY didn't like each other and almost went our seperate ways for good.

this is the SAME person who yesterday was waiting at the BestBuy to grab a couple copies of the BDM-DVD, has dressed up as Kaylee for one Halloween and has a serious crush on Zoe and Mal, wants to buy a copy of the BDM-DVD for everygorrambody she knows...AND she married _me_!

I am the luckiest Browncoat in the 'verse, I am.

I'm just sayin'.

Did you convert her? Or did god intervene on your behalf?

I don't recall insisting she do anything in particular, it being clear from the beginiing that she doesn't do ANYTHING she doesn't want to do in the first place. But when I started watching tapes of FF (I had no cable at the moment it came out) she sorta started looking over my shoulder, then asking when I'd get a new ep, and then sitting down with me and wanting me to rewind bits...I like to think she recognized the wonder on her own terms.

She still thinks my undying loyalty to the whole thing was a little weird, but then the movie got made, she LOVED it (saw it 4 times and she's probably home right now watching the DVD!) and I think she started to get a fix on that, too.

The whole thing really is too pretty to die. She said as much last night on a stroll 'round the 'hood, and I could only smile. a lot.

I think that she's pretty lucky to have a husband that likes to boast how lucky he is!

It's a rare gem to find a good match! Don't you guys dare forget that!

Stay shiny forever!!!

I hear ya, INIRE. My husband does the hard rockin' his own self. We've been together for a while, but 2 years ago we tied the knot. Later that day he obliged and dressed up as Mal and we had the whole Mal/Saffron "wedding", complete with a hat made out of a tree. I got him sucked into Buffy late in Season 6, he watched Angel from Season 3... But he's been a devoted Browncoat from the first airing of the Train Job. He's a good man, mine.

Was he aware of it?

We applied the cortical electrodes but were unable to get a neural reaction from either patient.
