Hey guys

Ive been itching to rewatch this damn movie since I watched it for the first time. Forgot it at home when I went back to the parents place for the holidays!!! And damn movie, cause Im addicted to the thing! Anyway, I was watching it again tonight, and just had a question about the teaser at the start when Simon is breaking out River. When the alarms go off, and we see the two men in the Browncoats, which can't be right,(sorry Im colourblind, might be black or something else) but do you think that they are to represent the Blue Hands from the series? I mean the two seem to have similar facial features to the two men that portraid them in the Tv series.

Sorry just a thought from a guy who can't sleep!

Yeah, the two guys reminded me quite a bit of the Blue Hands, and it would have been cool if they had been Blue Hands, but in the Serenity comic books, detailing what happened in between the series and the movie, the Blue Hands duo from the show make an appearance and some stuff happens with them that I won't reveal in case you haven't yet read the comics, but given the events of the comics, it's unlikely the two guys in the film are the Blue Hands duo from the show. Plus they're not wearing blue gloves. Would have been great if they were blue hands guys,. whether the ones from the series or some new ones.

Is the comic being released in Book form...like Sin City, is this what the Serenity By Josh...is about on Amazon???? IT has Mal drawn on it??? Cause wasn't it just a 3-4 issue comic?

It was a 3-issue comic, now being collected in a single volume.

And the guards in the film in that quick shot did not have blue gloves on, but everyone I know checked for the same reasons.

Yeah, I thought the same thing but eventually confirmed to myself that they don't have blue gloves on. I haven't read the comics yet but I believe Blue Sun are involved in at least one of them.

but the things that happened in the beginning of the movie would not be effected by what happened in the comics. think about the sequence of events

River escapes blue hands
Joins the firefly crew blue hands
comics here blue hands
main sequences from movie here __________

Theoretically if you look at just the sequence of eventsit could be them. However if you read the comics, there are uhh certain issues regarding the blue gloves that leads you to think they would never be seen without htem on.

I agree though when I saw those two guys I was searching for their blue gloves!!

ohoh oh could they have become the hands of blue after she escaped?

Not bad reasoning...

I can see why Joss would alude to them for the fans but not bring up the whole blue hands thing that isn't mentions anywhare else in the movie. It would just confuse people not familiar with the series as it would never be explained within the movie itself.

hmmm... yeah it could be a simplification so as not to confuse the unwashed masses....

I had not thought of that.

I think that the Blue Hand men were an idea that Joss introduced and then later decided to drop. Maybe he felt they were sailing a little too close to the Agents from The Matrix - does anyone else think this?
