I’ve introduced a couple of friends to the Serenity/Firefly ‘verse, and they’ve all loved it. After they heard about the demise of the series, they’ve all asked “What can I do to help?”

Well, simply, RECRUIT MORE BROWNCOATS!

Hollywood has proven time and time again that money rules all. Money drives all decisions. Not good movies, not good acting, not good storytelling. Money explains why awful movies like “Big Momma’s House” get made into sequels.

So, in order to make Serenity a success, it has to make money. People need to go out and buy the DVD.

It’s a pretty easy sell. It seems like everyone I’ve loaned the movie to has loved it, and has bought their own copy. Whedon’s stuff sells itself.

So, to make Serenity a success, RECRUIT MORE BROWNCOATS. Tell your friends, relatives, co-workers, etc. Loan out your DVD. Get the word out. Like I said, if you can get the movie in front of people, it usually sells itself.

And when your friends get their own DVD and get sucked into the ‘verse, and ask how they can help, tell them simply,

RECRUIT MORE BROWNCOATS!

Got my parents on board and they've gotten the series and I'm sure will soon get the movie.

Bought another copy of the series for my friend (birthdays are great excuses to convert people) and will soon get a another copy of the movie to send to another friend.

Since I watch an episode atleast once a week, my roomates will be subjected to it regularly and hopefully hooked by continuous exposure.

I'm going to try and get the movie shown in the theatre at my school too, so here's hoping to convert en masse.

New Browncoat reporting for duty!

First off, I want to apologize to the original Browncoats whom I abandoned without even knowing it. I never saw the TV show before I saw the Serenity movie. Not being a huge Buffy/Angel fan, I never bothered to tune in to Firefly. I had no idea I was making such a poor decision. I wish I had because I would've been fighting for this franchise from the start.

The only reason I went to see Serenity was because I thoroughly enjoy Joss' writing of the Astonishing X-Men book. I WAS SIMPLY BLOWN AWAY BY THE MOVIE and ran right out to purchase the series on DVD. Since it's basically a limited series, I have tried to savor every episode. Every one of them have been very enjoyable. After watching them all, I re-watched Serenity and was even more moved.

I wish I wasn't so late to this party. I would've like to have supported it while it was on Fox. Still, I hope the Sci-Fi network (forget SG: Atlantis) or some other studio picks up the rights to do more with this franchise. Great stuff and again, sorry I'm late.

(I have purchased multiple copies of Serenity and given them as gifts)

does your title refer in anyway to a school affiliation?

Went to the bookstore today, Waldenbooks in Klamath Falls, OR and spent much time talking to my favorite salesperson about tht 'verse and met an ACTUAL fellow Browncoat! I think we convinced her (the clerk) to check out the Firefly series and the Serinity. Damn fine meetin' another Browncoat in our little neck of the woods!

If wishes was horses, we'd all be eatin' steak!
