I'd actually like to know if anyone can verify this as well. I've looked and looked, but don't see him.

This has been floating around for a while, and as far as anyone can tell it’s simply an error. IMDB is a great site, but its user-submitted info is often riddled with errors (though they try to correct them as soon as they catch them). I think people really like the idea of Joss appearing in his shows and play a game of “Find the Whedon,” seeing him when he isn’t there (IMDB has in the past mistakenly credited him with several non-existent guest appearances in Buffy and Angel).

The only time Joss appeared on one of his shows was as the dancing demon Numfar in Season Two of “Angel” (“Numfar! Do the Dance of Joy!”), and he was unrecognizable under all the makeup. The only time he’s appeared in the ‘verse is as the Doctor in the River Tam Session and as the voiceover for that old guy at the trade station vault in the BDM.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I'm sure that whoever submitted that info to imdb thinks that the older man (possibly Tracy's father) to whom Kaylee hands the voice recorder, is Joss, but I am positive it is not.

Hmmmm, that's actually very interesting. I haven't seen him, so I'll have to look, but it wouldn't surprise me if he is in there somewhere, since Joss himself said that the funeral scene was him saying goodbye to the show. Kinda makes sense for him to be there at the funeral of his creation.

Actually, I'm sure that the old man IS Joss. Did you listen to the commentary of the BDM when the old guy is on? I thought it was him when I saw it the 3rd or 4th time in the theater and when ChrisIsAll said something in a thread about my thinking this, he was contradicted. However, if you look closely and listen to the commentary, it is him. ChrisIsAll, we are VINDICATED!

I'm going to add cursing and the hurling about of things to my repertoire.

SCORPIONREGENT

The second episode of Angel in the first season, Joss is schmoozing with Cordelia at the cocktail party, before she turns around and bumps into Angel.
