Is there an antonym for favorite? I can't think of it.

If you have to pick the episode you liked least which would it be?

I would have to pick Our Mrs. Reynolds. I think the idea of Mal married just put me off. Then the Inara/Saffron scene was something I did not want to see, personally. Though I do like the fact that Inara kissed Mal and that is how he got sick.

So what about you?

Shindig by a long shot however I'm biased because I think Inara is the weakest character.
OMR was brilliant!!

My least favorite episode (not saying that I still didn't love it like all the others) would also have to be Our Mrs. Reynolds. It could be that it just didn’t have enough Simon in it, but I think it really is because it was just too much about Saffron and Mal. I feel that the other characters were left out. Well, now that I think about it, it just didn’t have enough Simon. Since all of the episodes are so wonderful the little bit of Simon-less-ness tipped the scale.

I'd say The Train Job. It wasn't really bad, but the explanations they had to cram in due to it being a replacement pilot sort of hurt the episode.

My least favorite is Jaynestown. Pacing seems off to me.

Objects in Space was my least favorite episode. It only helped develop River's character for us -- we already knew Mal and Inara have tension, we already knew that Jayne recognizes that Mal is the alpha male, we already knew that everyone likes River, we already knew that Kaylee is not a toughgirl, we already knew that Wash and Zoe are passionately in love, we already knew Simon would give his life for River, we already knew River is brilliant and we knew that Book is not only a Shepherd. I could keep going. There was just too much about Early. Since they had already decided to cancel the show, I would have liked to see one of the other episodes Fox purchased -- at least if they develop the characters' depth some more, like it seems to me that Heart of Gold could have done. (I also admit that the scene with the Captain mostly uncovered would definitely get my undivided attention.)

I did enjoy seeing Kaylee work up the nerve to do what was needed, and seeing Mal's expression when River said "Don't make faces", but the constant "Does that seem right to you?" was flat.

My least favorite would be Train Job followed by Shindig. I watched Train Job once on videocassette and haven't watched it since; Shindig just seemed like an excuse to put Mal in a pretty shirt and see him show his love for Inara. *yawn* That could have been done in so many better ways.

Ya know, come to think of it, in OiS was River to coherent at the end and too sane for too long? It might be me, but I think it was too neat. I could see her saving the day, but to be suddenly sane,"My brother takes so much looking after" It seemed off to me.

Something that's bothered me since the time I watched it on TV.

WASH: Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction.
ZOE: We live in a space ship, dear.
WASH: So?

I think mine may be a little out of step with some but I'd have to say least favorites are either Safe or Shindig. Safe seemed like the only episode chiefly intended as character developement. Not quite as compelling as most on a story level. Some great new pieces of info though. Nice piece of intrigue added to Book's character.

Bushwacked, for me.

It brings out my least favourite aspects of the show: namely the styling and design of the Alliance elements - without going into too much detail, an example being the Trek-style technique of having the captain of a huge ship being the one who leads 'away' style missions (in this case two trips onto Serenity) - ever heard of delegation?

Plus - the Reaver technology seemed out of line with everything else we've so far seen - the snaking pipes attaching to Serenity, the organic-looking wiring that Kaylee's playing with - I can happily believe that Reaver tech is fundementally different from what we're used to - what I have problems with is that no-one commented on that, rather they treated it as if it were perfectly normal.

I was hoping the Reaver stuff would be addressed later - probably it would have been

Still *liked* the episode. I just don't love it like the others.

Everybody's down on Shindig! I'd have to go with Train Job as least favorite. So much of it seemed forced; explanations, some overly broad characterizations and the mysterious disappearance of Jayne's facial hair(I'd already seen Serenity so this really bothered me.)

I rewatched OMR this Saturday. Although I still don't like Saffron. It is a hilarious episode.

I had only seen it once. I recommend a second viewing of your least favorite episode. Firefly is chalk full of hi-larious scenes, dialogue.

I love them all though.

I do think its a little funny that we're listing our least favorite episodes considering even the worst Firefly is better than 99% of the rest of the shows that are being offered. And I say this with complete objectivity of course.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I have to agree w/ most and say Train Job. It seemed that I was playing catch up the whole episode, what with the brief explanations and all since FOX pushed it to be the replacement pilot.

There is not one that I don't like but, if I had to choose, The Train Job. Someone said it seemed "forced". I agree. This question was harder to answer than I thought!

OUTLANDER

The Train Job by default. Serenity was an awesome pilot and from The Train Job onward the show just got better and better.

And for the record I thought Objects In Space was absolutely brilliant. How can people not see how good this episode is? The quality of the directing, photography and music are way above the average episode and Summer Glau shows just why she is the best actor on the show.

Sorry, just went off topic. The Train Job seems to be all over the place lacking the strong story that all the other episodes have. Also all the other episodes seem to focus on one or two character where as The Train Job seems to give us bits and peaces of characters.

CHAMPAGNESUPERNOVA

Safe - I still liked it. But if I had to be really really picky, here's reasons why I'd go with this episode:

- too much mandarin made things a bit confusing at the beginning
- thought the green automobile was cheesy
- didn't like the choice of actors/actresses for the Tam's parents, the town leader, the sheriff & the nurse
- the setting didn't look too appealing
- didn't like Mal's speech near the end where he & Zoe entered the town. His high-pitched shouting voice just didn't seem right.

Cheers!

Bushwhacked. It made the point that the Reavers were right fearsome, but I didn't find it very dramatically compelling.

If I had to choose, I'd say Our Mrs. Reynolds. Only because Mal let Saffron live. She deserved the same fate as those fellas on the space station.

Bushwacked. It's the ep I re-watch least, although the interviews were fun and interesting. It just seemed ... slow. The Reavers seemed much more fearsome in Serenity than they seemed here, for some reason.

I loved OMR, though--surprised so many picked it. My second-favorite ep, after OOG.

My very favorite episode is Out of Gas. Everyone showed their very best traits, character-wise and, I think, acting-wise.

To be totally honest, I have to admit that it seems to be all about the Captain and Serenity and how the others relate to them, my two very favorite characters.

My second favorite, though, is not Our Mrs. Reynolds (I, too, would have wanted Mal to just put an end to Saffron there and then rather than wait to see her again). My #2 is War Stories. I know it's dark and scary, but I want to be Zoe when I grow up. (Can't ya tell?) I'm not very into redemption (of anyone except Jayne, anyway) and the only purpose I see to letting her live is the notion that maybe she will be better later.

"Six shots, then drop it," she says as she instructs Wash. Calm, cool, collected, and constant.
