IMHO, we need to employ strategy and logistics

I believe we need to come up with a plan. We need to get 3 or 4 street addresses for: Fox, Mutant Inc. Sci-Fi channel, and whomever else we can come up with, and hit 'em with concerted force.
We may need to get the local/national news media involved as well. If we get lucky, and it's a slow news day, we just might be able to get them tuned on us.

Here's the idea: Once we have mailing addresses, we pick a date, and everyone promises to write a letter asking to bring back Firefly and sends it out on that date. We hit them with a deluge of fanmail. If we have to, we do it more than once; we keep doing it, until they get so sick of it, that they captitulate to our demands.

The key here is that once committed, we all have to keep up the pressure. We need to demonstrate clearly that the show not only has great entertainment value, but that there is a profit to be made from its resurrection. Numbers are our greatest advantage. The greater the involvement by fans, the more they will set up and take notice.

For those of you who feel the alliance has already won, and there's little or no chance of succeeding, I humbly ask you to realize the truth: Nothing is going to change if we do nothing. We can shake up the status-quo only if we are willing to do whatever it takes to do so.

I am suddenly reminded of:

I'll gladly participate in any moves to help bring the series back (or create a sequel). Just post something on a newsletter.

Not having heard of Firefly before, I just rented the Serenity DVD a couple of weeks ago. Just a truly entertaining movie. I then rented the Firefly tv series and was surprised that each episode is just so well made. I've bought the dvds since then, and wish there was a way we could help push the powers up there to bring it back.

What is that from? It's on the edge of my memory but I can't quite place it.

Is this just sounding off an idea on a message board or will there be a shiny website and an organized leadership effort behind this?

Approximately 52 readers have hit this thread in near 4 hours. About 13/hr and this is the middle of the night. Get enough, and maybe the 'alliance' will get that flooding deluge of mail (electronic and snail) and serenity will continue to cruise.

Well you can email scifi about programming suggestions at feedback@scifi.com according to their website: http://www.scifi.com/feedback/

Also they have messageboards there that someone might check out occasionally...so there are some ideas.

There is another option that rarely gets considered: sponsors. They are very sensitive to public opinion, and rarely get positive mail.

If say Virgin or Apple (remember that 1st Apple Big Brother commercial?) sponsored Firefly, and got rave reactions from it, the new production situation would be far different.

Similar efforts for 'responsible stockholders' have had real impact on many corporations.

52 people reading a thread is nice. But when it was on Firefly had 5,000,000 people watching it and that wasn't close to enough. Fox don't care about people shouting outside their doorstep. They care about money. Our best bet is to make the Serenity DVD a big old cash machine.

Plus it ticks me off that we are attempting to do work that should be the work of the actors, Joss Whedon, and the studio. There's some other thread on here or sci fi saying how we should email leno and oprah...isn't that an agent job somewhere?
