Mmm! Mints!

I am not fond of TMI. I prefer TLI, myself.

Yay for Spinny's new car and best wishes in the graphics contest. Dazzle them with your brilliance!

NOS-if I lived anywhere near you, I'd pick you up and take you shopping for baby stuff and to the movies. Being carless stinks. But alack, my car doesn't have wings so we're out of luck today.

My car is a pretty silvery purpley pinky colour. It's called "silvered plum" and it seems to change colour depending on the light. My sister, who is a purple FREAK was soooo jealous when she first saw it.

My echo is scheduled for next Friday night. I hope this doesn't conflict with my grandfather's back surgery this weds. He's going to be in the hospital for several days. But the echo place is right near the hospital so I can swing by before or after and visit.

Well, then I guess the only recourse left is to befriend someone with a nice car and then chip in for gas. I mean, petrol.

Last night I kept someone up all night...talking of course.

this morning was a store meeting. Since i didn't need to dress for work (my shift is this evening) I wore flannel pjs and my Jayne hat. This is what I heard:

"Aren't you cute."
"Dressed just for us, huh."
"That is the ugliest hat..."
"Alene, that hat is not pretty."
"Cool hat. It suits you."

Well, you get the idea. Anyway, it allowed me to do a brief explanation of the hat. Unfortunately, they're not into the show, but they liked the story of the hat, so who knows what the future holds.

And you know it's an non-interesting day out in the world when a story about a trapped whale being transported down the Thames and dying on the way gets more airtime on the national news than anything else.

The thing about the whale was that it was perfect for the news channels: it was newsworthy by virtue of its rarity ("Since records began in 1913!" was the cry at the time; not sure who has been patiently ticking a box marked "no whale in Thamas today" for the last 93 years but still...), it had the human interest factor ("Awww, look at the whale. And the children looking at the whale.") and above all else, they could go back to it again and again to fill in those endless hours of dead air.

Had techie Saturday; helped a friend buy a second hand laptop then helped said friend return laptop for not having a battery in it. Found much better laptop later on and sent her away with that. Got a laptop cooler for myself and another bit for someone else.

Other than that, not a huge amount doing. Hmm. Still, happy about a nice win at poker last night and other stuff too.

Life is good.

That would be weird with not much access to public transit and no vehicle. I'd get revved to just go somewhere. Isn't there a motor pool? In the movies, there's always a jeep to sign out, bargain for, commandeer, or steal and go awol to the mall (here I am again, trying to incite you to steal gvm't property for a joyride, I'm just bad). Lol, no, being stuck is no fun, and you haven't even been to London yet. I'd be going nuts, you have my sympathy. What about a hitch hiking adventure?

Yes i am going nuts. Cause without my computer i'm actually pretty adventurous. Like when i lived at home, i'd just go out driving cause i could, and explore. Or go to the movies, even if it was by myself, not so much shopping as I feel the need to do now(must be the large paycheck).
And as for a hitch hiking adventure, while it sounds good in theory... i'm not sure it'd work out. Plus i'm extremely shy... almost uncomfortable around people i don't know. Which is prolly what keeps me from making friends with someone with a car...

crazy thing is, now we know exactly how to invade london, should we ever need to.. ha ha.

We just send a pod of whales up river, then as the entire city grinds to a stand still 'cause all of the residents are on the river front, we come at them over land.

He actually died of lactic acid build up in his muscles I think, that and his organs being crushed by his own weight. I can't understand why they didn't keep him in the water and just, kind of tow him...

London is so far up near the source of the river, I can't think theres too much salt water there, just three eyed fish and all of the dead bodies that haven't floated up to the surface yet (80 bodies or something like, pulled out every year, no one bats a lid)

And finally, before I stop butting in
the newpaper headlines this morning... anyone see them? 'Farewhale'
Good god! the poor bastards just died, spare him that final indignity!
And now they want to bury him?!?!? a sea creature and they want to bury him in the ground.
