In the commentary for War Stories I believe Nathan and Alan (Or maybe it was in Serenity with Nathan and Joss) they mentioned that we would learn a bit more about Simon and River's relationship in the commentary for Safe.

Is this just a mean joke for the crew? Did they mean to have a commentary but never put it in? I need answers!

I just heard that the other day. My guess was they just didn't really know what episodes were getting commentaries.

I think they were talking about the episode itself, since in "Safe" we do in fact learn more about Simon and River's relationship.

If memory serves, though, they were talking about incestual undertones (hee!) at the time, so it could have been a little joke between the two funnymen.

WHITEFALL

Yeah, it was a joke, as they probably didnt know which eps got commentaries. However, they are right that if there was a commentary on safe they would have talked about simon/river....

So, it was sensible joke, but still.

I survived a day in Whitefall and all I got was this lousy signature!
