CABRIDGES

Just added a page to SerenityStuff.com about my wife Teresa's Firefly Barbies, with descriptions, pics, and some basic pointers on making your own.

Also, in the post on our experiences at FX 2006 this weekend you can read about how Alan Tudyk and Summer Glau reacted to seeing their plastic dopplegangers. With pics!

America loves a winner!

First thing I thought of was - Team America!

Is the red haired doll next to Mal suppose to be YoSaffBridge ? They look pretty good ( River's hot! ) hee hee

LOL. They're pretty good. I like the 1 of Jayne complete with orange hat. What you should do is stop animation of some Firefly episodes. Just compress the plot to about 5 minutes :)

The Alan Tudyk one is awesome. Is your wife a big Wash fan? Did she actually remodel the doll's jaw? Is she a plastic surgeon? Cuz I've got an old G.I. Joe with a terrible case of 'waterfaucet nose'...

While Zoe's kinda easy to pick out (no, duh), I'm having a hard time recognizing some of the other females. River on the left, yeah; but the face on (presumably) Kaylee is odd and I'm just gonna have to guess the redhead is YoSafBridge. Meaning: No Inara, which is verra stranzh because Morena is a Barbie!

Seriously -- just for a second -- these are great. Really. Your wife clearly did a lot of attentive work on them and, assuming I guessed the females right, they do look quite a bit like the actors. Especially, the Wash. Wow.

We now rejoin the silliness, which might unintentionally be mistaken for criticism, already in progess...

Figurinely,

zoid

P.S.
YoSafBridge's boobs are waaay too small. Just sayin...

P.P.S.
...And Ron gets left out, again. I guess it's just too hard to find a septuagenarian black male doll. Maybe the Civil War Barbie Collection?

YoSaff's boobs (and hips) are, in fact built up quite a bit from Barbie's to make them more womanly, these pics don't show it very well.

Right now she's in the middle of Bookmaking and seaching the web for a soldier doll that vaguely resembles Joss. If anyone has suggestions, a woman's sanity could be at stake.

These are awesome! Your wife obviously spent a lot of time on these, because they are so easy to recognize!

I agree with the stop motion short - that would be priceless!

Love the Jayne and Wash ones!

Priceless! She certainly captured the essence of each of the characters, cause from where I'm sitting, I had no trouble at all figuring out who was who.

Have to agree with the others above me, Jayne cracks me up something fierce. The hat, along with what looks like a very faithful recreation of Vera... very shiny.

And yeah, Wash gets me too :P That expression on his face is perfect.

Really great attention to detail with all the little accessories. I could go on and on (and generally do...) Thanks so much for sharing those here.

Soldier doll? That resembles Joss?!

If you had said 'pacifist' doll, I might not have understood what you were talking about; but at least it wouldn't have short-circuited a couple thousand synapses the way "soldier doll" did.

You might try looking for a Lex Luthor figurine, or similar large-domed doll, if you want one that looks enough like Joss for your wife to modify.

Cranially,

zoid

P.S.
Joss has lost a lot of weight over the past two years and he looks pretty trim these days. ...But, "soldier"?
*caught in a fatal loop, zoid's brain begins to sizzle and smoke alarmingly*
