Does anybody have info on how to contact CW, or even if we can yet? Should I try writing to UPN and/or WB instead? Basically, who do I need to write/email/petition/etc. to get Firefly/Serenity back on the air(preferably CW)?

Oh, and I apologize for the abundant use of slashes, I was caught up in the moment!

I find the best way to contact CW is to use morse code.

Please tell me there's another ham here so that joke isn't completely wasted......

That was wrong, in a funny way, but still so wrong.

Stick with Dawn. She is the President of Programming for the CW (there isn't an equivalent at the WB...at least it hasn't been announced yet).

We will hold...we hold till Mal gets back...wait what's that on the horizon?

Thanks much. It may all be unfounded rumors, but maybe some letters will at least make them take notice.

Here is the text of the letter I am sending today:

Quote:

Dear Ms. Ostraff:

I am writing to request that you give strong, serious consideration to bringing back Joss Whedon’s “Firefly” to your programming, especially now that you are rethinking things in light of the new network that is emerging from your and the WB’s merger.

Firefly was quality programming, with cross genre appeal. It was science fiction, drama, sit-com and western. It was all of those and more. I can see what a challenge it must have been to find it a programming slot when nobody could really figure out what the heck to call it, but I believe you are up to the challenge, you and the new CW Network!

Firefly is just plain fun. It has cross-generational appeal. My husband and I (in our 40s) watch it with our three children, who range in age from 5 to 15 years. We all like it. (I don’t know what demographic group that makes us.) The writing was inspired, the shooting of high quality, the actors superb and irreplaceable and the score (I am listening to it right now as I write this) was evocative and memorable. There is really a lot to the series, great depth and character, a warmth that appeals to me personally.

We are quite new fans, having only discovered the Firefly series after watching the movie Serenity shortly after it was released on DVD. We have now purchased the DVDs to the movie and the series and have bought both soundtracks now. So that’s… what… about $100 of spending in less than two months! For us, that is a lot of money to spend on a TV show. Firefly fans tend to be fiercely loyal. I can see how big Firefly could get with the right exposure and the right network to call it home. Look how quickly my family got hooked!

I am willing to make a deal with you: Right now we are carrying only the absolute cheapest cable package we can get. Basically it’s just the big network channels. We don’t even get CNN! But if you promise me you’ll bring back my Firefly, I promise to upgrade our cable package to include the CW. Aren’t you excited? :o)

Anyway, thank you for your time and your consideration.

Kind regards,

My Real Name
