Because theonetruebix proposed the idea of doing a nationwide screening of Serenity on June 23 as a benefit for Equality Now, I called a local theater and inquired about them showing it there... AND THEY SAID YES!!!
http://www.palacealbany.com/pages/aroundpalace/floor.asp Take the tour. It's a gorgeous building.
And pardon my bad spelling. I am just so freaking happy....

Anyhow... the idea I had was, get the movie screened at this fantastic just renovated theater, everyone sits down for the movie and then a Hold Up is staged, (a la the opening sequence in the BDM with our BDH!) to accept donations to Equaliy Now. Sound like fun?

So.... if I can get the movie screened would you come? Please? Albany NY is equa-distant from Boston, NYC, and Buffalo so would a day trip in summer to my fair city sound like fun?

There might be more... will keep everyone updated.

I'd like to come if I can -- and I'll try to bring a few Massachusetts browncoats with me.

I don't disagree on any particular point.

No kidding! Well then, I am going to take that as a good luck charm that I can get this particular screening done!

I'd make an effort to go (en masse) of course. From VT... would enjoy another drive to Albany.. did it exactly one year ago from that date for the preview screenings.

Hope to see you there!

Just to let everyone know, the tickets went on sale for the movie on the 1st of April through the Palace website, (which leads you to Ticketmaster anyhow...)

Yes, I heard this before and my son really wants to see it on the big screen (well, I do!).

We're there! We only live 1 1/2 hours away and my parents live across the river.

There could be tears. (happy ones of course)

So by general admission standing room, is it actually going to be standing room, or are they just not distinguishing seats and it's going to be a mad dash for the best ones?

I don't know about a mad dash... ;) but not standing room either. They're aren't giving out tickets with specific seats assigned to them. It's like going to the movies at the mall. You buy your tickets and get there in time to get the seats you want.... but on a larger scale.
