Hi and thanks for the warm welcome,

Who knew such a small firefly (serenity) could hold so many.

Thanks for the coats Shiny. We will wear them with pride.

Thank you too Chindi. Sitting at the supper table with you guys(as in guys and girls) will certainly be enjoyable.

It's a funny thing but we live only a few miles from Beaumont(Bmt,Tx) not the planet. But it would be a lot of fun to go there, the planet I say.

You'll like it here!

edit: just missed your 2nd post - sweet, folks from Beaumont, that's cool!

Ask Dr. Science ... he knows more than you do.

Welcome, "noobs"... except here you're "new recruits" instead.

Just FYI, the planet is Beaumonde, not Beaumont. However, in your next session of charades, it's all good. "Sounds like..."

Hope you enjoy many a visit to this here boat.

Hey guys,

Mattcoz, thank you for the welcome

Lucidz,thanks for the welcome also

Doncoat, so its Beaumonde. Thanks for helping a "New Recruit" out. I should have realized Beaumont was in the other direction. A fatal mistake in space travel. Don't want to get lost and end up as a McReaver Happy meal.

Browncoat1, We found our way to Firefly by way of the Serenity dvd. We had seen the movie trailer at the theater when we went to see HP. I wanted to see the movie then. just didn't get a chance to. I guess you could say a Shepherd lead us here.

SaveWash, thanks for the welcome. BTW Savewash as in "Save Wash" I assume and save "Shepherd Book" as well.

thanks guys Z&C

You are indeed correct. I hope those who haven't seen the movie yet won't know what it means!

Great idea!

Either that or I think there's something wrong with the state of Washington?

Thanks for the brownies Ravenhair

It's just my second day here and I'm already putting on a few pounds (but its all good)

First question, wheres the transporter room? joke

Really I was wondering about the browncoat numbers at the site here. How many?

What is the absolute latest on the Firefly Universe? Where are we in the water or I mean in that deep dark void of space? The wife and I spent a couple of afternoons watching the Firefly series and to think that thats just all, well sorry if that has been asked 10,000 times.

Next where is the galley and the other hang-outs on this site? My navs are a bit on the rusty side.

thanks everyone Z&C

there are friends aplenty here. Welcome you two, to the Shiniest site on the cortex.
I don't know what it is about Texas...maybe things take a while to filter down to this vasty nothingness, but there's been an influx of the texican kind here lately...my own self included... maybe some day the Texas Browncoat contingent will rally to the cause of our beloved series - not unlike in texas that was...with the cry "Remember The Firefly"....or something to that affect.

we were all about the fighting for independence after all....

DONCOAT

You can get an idea of the number of registered users here by rolling your mouse over the yellow nick of a recent recruit. The status bar at the bottom of your browser will show some info ending in a number, which is their user number.

The highest I've seen is just short of 19000. However, many who register are not regular posters. And many who lurk do not register. And few return to the sunlit lands. (okay, I know... wrong fictional world )

Right now we're all just holding the line, trying to bring in new recruits and boost sales of the DVDs to show the decisionmakers at Universal how shiny it would be to make a sequel. It's tough duty sometimes, but great Browncoats never shirk. Well, we're good Browncoats. Well, we're all right.

Hello fellow Firefly folk,

Daves,hello
How about" And it's one small step for man(and woman). One giant leap for Fireflyfan-kind(said while pinching his nose).

Doncoat, that number for me would be 18988. We are getting close to 19000. I realize that not all are participants or regular poster but then it still is a good number of fans.

I just read Daves profile (as I have others) and am in tune with what he says about being born to early for space travel. I think one of the first lines that pulled me in when watching Serenity was the talk of how Earth had become to small for its numbers. It makes me sad to think of how we are treating mother earth.Yet I would feel very happy if a gum wrapper were found by the Mars Explorer tomorrow. No apologies for sounding like Shepherd Book.

just Z
