Im not sure if everyones already seen this and im being unbelievably slow, but i stumbled across our beloved captain giving a shiny interview over on scfi-wire:

http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=0&id=34990

He talks about how he will still be doing conventions when his 60, and how pleased he was with serenity . but also how serenity was his shot to make right so how can he ask for more?

Ask for a hell of a lot more i say, if you dont ask you dont... you know how it goes.

anyway good news/ not good news - i guess its all down to how you read it.
either way it made me smile, i hope it does you guys too.

"Why did you leave?" .... "Why didn't you ask me not too?"

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Interesting article. I wouldn't really say that it offers any news, good or bad, to us browncoats. We all know how Nathan feels about the show & the movie. He doesn't say anything about the chances of another movie, but that is to be expected since the film didn't do well in theatres & we are now waiting on DVD sales figures.

Still, it is good to hear from Nathan.

Did anyone notice the Top 10 SF&F Selling DVDs list on the page in the lower right of that page? Looks like Firefly is # 6 & Serenity is in @ # 9 per Amazon.com.

I got so excited reading the article about Nathan.... I'm silly like that...I didn't notice the list at the bottom of the page. But go us, we're still in the top 10!

Sounds like Nathan is still committed to Firefly/Serenity as we all know he is. I was heartened by his funny response about being at conventions forever. That makes me really happy, cuz I'm goin to Flan in 2007, if I have to hitchhike ( and I'm a grandma type!)

We HAVE to keep pushing those DVD's, fellow 'coats!
Recruit, recruit, recruit. I want more, and I know all of us do. Including our favorite crew, obviously.

ETA: I'm goin' to see Slither, not just to support Nathan, but because even though I don't like gore, this looks FUNNY, and Nathan does the funny stuff really well.

I am going to see Slither JUST to support Nathan, and I really hate scary movies. Such is the power of his...nostrils?

You know, they tell ya to never hit a man with a closed fist, but it is, on occasion, hilarious.

SANKACOFIE

So what do Firefly/Serenity fans ask Fillion? "I get questions like, 'When you put your hand on her shoulder, was that your idea?'" he said. "And then I ask, 'Did you like that?' And if they say yes, then I say, 'Yes, it was my idea. Joss [Whedon, Serenity's writer and director,] fought me hard on it.'"

This man IS Malcolm Reynolds.

I love my Captain too and a belated Happy Birthday!

I'll be at Slither with my daughter hopefully on
Friday night. I may shut my eyes tight once or twice but I'll be laughing with the rest of the crowd. Most likely I'll be one of the oldest women there but what's a man 11 years your junior-just perfect!
