Hey'all

Just wanted to say Hi. I'm such a newbie at this game, it's embarassing. But my flatmate lent me Serenity a couple of weeks ago...which was promptly followed by my ordering of 2 boxsets off Amazon, one for me and one for my little bro, who's now also totally hooked (and hopefully spreading the love around Northern Ireland as frantically as I am in Edinburgh).

Ohhh...

You've all said it all, in much more depth than I have time to & I stand absolutely in awe of the work y'all put in with support and love and helping get a movie made...

What can I say? I should be revising, but my laptop (and brain) is getting worn out watching. I'm laughing, I'm crying, and if ol Sexybum doesn't stop strutting around in those tight trousers, I'm going to start climbing the walls.

All us girls fall in love with Cap'n Tightpants!

Welcome to our shiny ship, Rach!

I usually give new folks their browncoat (virtual, sorry to say.. but cool nonetheless)
and gear and say howdy and we're glad you're here.

*hands Rach her very own browncoat*

Shiny, that you and your brother are already spreading the 'verse to others... because we all want more! And that's gonna be the best way to get it... by having more folks fall in love too.

So pull up a chair, make yourself to home and someone will likely be along in a while to offer you some food and drink...

Me? I don't cook... too busy handin' out browncoats... and keepin' tabs on the Cap'n!

Hi,
I'm rather new too & found everyone here welcoming & friendly.Since nobody's offered you something to eat yet, please feel free to help yourself to some cookies ( chocolate chip ) or brownies.Since my little space monkeys like to bake, there will always be some kind of baked goodness around. Not too sure who has the drinks though.
Welcome & enjoy your new browncoat.

Cheers my dear! I hate to be a fusspot though, but I'm afraid I'm a little wary of the whole mudder's milk idea - reminds me too much of a nasty experience with white russians. Coffee would be just lovely.

Tell me this; I know everyone's dying (and rightly so)to have the series resurrected and flying again in full glory. I've been flickin' over the Slither reviews though, and it seems like Monsieur Fillion is generating quite a lot of heat. What happens if he becomes a big hot star? Think he'd still want to come back and play? Would it still be polite to ask him to?

*Sits down beside Rach and pours us both a cup of coffee. Tips back in the chair and stretches her legs out all comfortable like....*

IMHO, Mr. Fillion ALWAYS generates lots of heat.. and he's gonna be a big hot star, no denying that, it's inevitable. So, my feeling is that we're lucky.. if he gets really big he can pick and choose what he does.... and there ain't no doubt in my mind that he'll up to do Mal again.
I saw a recent interview with Nathan.. he loves being Mal. And he'll come back and play him again. My guess is... WHEN they ask, he'll be more than proud to say yes.

Big shiny welcome, Rach.

And may I just take the opportunity to say that I'm going to donate a copy of Serenity to my school library? Not only do I save money not buying the thing over and over, I don't risk my precious special collector's edition in the uncaring mitts of my classmates. It's a win-win!

Play nice now, it's my first time...

Well, I've a job interview tomorrow morning and an exam in the afternoon. The smell of the brewery is reeking up the streets, and the sky is a grubby neon orange. But I'm looking up at a star, and here's wishing to waking up tomorrow to find Series II at the end of my bed. And ol Sexybum wrapped in up in a big red bow.

I WANT MY FIX, DAMMIT!

Checking out the deleted scenes in Serenity; why oh why did they have to cut the scene with Mal and Inara in the shuttle, querying why she did/shouldn't have left? It was an all too rare tender moment between that pair of hallions. I know he was playing it mean but still...

x

PS Know the feelin', Nanomoose; I'm so torn between wanting to show the series to everyone, and keep my new favourite toy pristine, I'm thinking I may have to invest in lending copy! What's in the collector's edition? Specials?

PPS Citizen, what's that tag line of yours from?I know it somehow...

Welcome Rach! I see FollowMal gave you your browncoat already, which is a necessity. Glad you found the 'verse and us. We're happy to have you.

If you need anything please let me know how to help, happy to do it. Of course, I'm not sure what to do should you need the help, as it sounds like you're pretty far away, but I suppose I can virtually help.

By the way, that's what I do around here. FollowMal is cheerful and hands out the browncoats, and I try to cram two sentences of content into three paragraphs.

We all can dream, but what's the likelyhood of Snakes on a plane 4? Even more unlikely is our captain stooping to that level! I LOVE Sam Jackson, but Snakes on a plane! Why would he have done that to himself! It looks like the dumbest movie someone would have to pay ME to go to!

Yep, Snakes on a Plane, wasn't there an SNL skit that was something like that? It's gotta be a joke. Amazing how Hollywood will generate tons of remade crapola (exhibit A: the soon to be released Miami Vice movie and the Magnum PI film currently in production), but when something original like Serenity comes along, they barely give it a glance.

Also, while I want Nathan's face on the Hollywood version of Mt. Rushmore for his effeorts in getting the 'verse back to us, I fear that he may outgrow us or any chance of getting our series back on the air. Wouldn't that be a mixed bag of blessing.

From what I've heard of the man, I think Nathan would go to the ends of the 'verse to get another chance to be Mal for a spell.

The lead role in Snakes on a Plane is, for true, a fate rather worse than death, but I have a notion the cap'n wouldn't hesitate to make the sacrifice.

Welcome aboard Rach.

It's good to have a new convert.
You're already so active in spreading the signal. Big thumbs up from me there.

I'm known for my pedantic posts, so if post and get a huge brick back, it's probably my fault. Sorry.

Nathan said that he thought that Mal was the best science fiction captain anytime, anywhere. He said that he'd never want anyone else to play the character, because he loved being Mal so much. He said it was an honor. Sounds like he'll take the role back if asked, neh?

Grab a tool and help keep this place shiny!
