Anyone ever listen to them? They have mostly Christmas albums, but I picked up "Beethoven's Last Night" the other day, and I was utterly blown away. It's a concept album in the truest sense. They tell one continuous story throughout the album, with different characters singing different songs. It was like candy for my ears.

The annotated lyrics at www.trans-siberian.com help out tremendously, I read those as I went through my second listening last night.

Good reminder, so I quickly played Anno Domine and then Wish Liszt from The Lost Christmas Eve to wake me up for an afternoon of work.

You probably have heard their song "Wizards of Winter" in the Miller Lite commercial with the house and the crazy Christmas lights.

I LOVE Beetohven's Last Night. I think they have great music in general but that is an awesome album. And does anyone else think that the guy who sings Mephisofeli...Mephistofal...I can't spell it so we'll just call him the devil shall we? Anyway, doesn't he sound kind of like Danny Elfman. Not really important.

So yeah. Great album

Mephistopheles.. don't know, never heard Danny Elfman sing. I heard these guys were kick-ass live, any truth to that?

I'm a little dissapointed they only have one non-christmas album. I need a non-jolly fix.

They are really awesome. They did some stuff with Metallica that was spectacular.

Yeah, TSO is a really great band. Saw them live a couple years back. Very worth it if you get the chance to see it.

Anyone know when (or if) their new CD comes out?

You ever hear the "Weird Science" theme? Elfman was the singer for the band Oingo Boingo.

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."

I got to see them at Christmas time and man they put on quite a show, the sound was a bit off but the light show and their presence on stage more than made up for it (and that is saying something for someone who goes to listen to the music)

Rent their dvd it gives you a vague idea of how their show looks, but its a much simpler version of the live performance.

I bought tickets to go see it for my whole family for Christmas and everyone, from my 80+ year old grandmother to my angsty doesn't like anything 16 year old brothe,r just loved it.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that at the live christmas show they went through and played several songs from beethovens last night, and their newest not yet cut album (which sounds to be as good if not better than beethovens last night).

If you get a chance to see them go, you will not be dissappointed.

Browncoats are the shiniest folks in the 'verse

I took my husband, my BiL and my SiL for Christmas two years ago. We were in the front row on the other side of the Xcel Center floor from the stage with an unobstructed view.

It was three concerts in one. The first half was the Beethoven concert, the second half was the Christmas concert, and the whole thing was freaking awesome laser-Floyd with humungous flames.

Never pass up an opportunity to see these folks in concert. It's worth the price.
