I've been thinking about those few folks we heard of in various episodes but never got to see on screen. Here are a few examples:

- Niska's wife (who he was worried would chew him out about her nephew). What a piece of work she must be!

- head of Inara's house on Sihnon... the woman who held the position Inara was considered likely to assume some day

- Saffron's other husbands... how many??

- Jayne's Mom

- Kaylee's folks

- The other people who helped Simon get River out

- Key members of Parliament. Key.

- The leaders of the Independent forces who were responsible for the Serenity Valley debacle

- That little man who looooved fire

Any others come to mind? Which would you most like to meet in the next installment of FF/S? No fair mentioning anyone we actually saw on screen, however briefly.

I think that the underground organization that helped rescue River has a good chance of showing up in the next BDM, provided Joss continues the war on the Alliance theme.

How about the middle-man waiting for the merchandise that the crew snuck through Canton during Jayne's speech?

Yeah, and if wishes were horses we'd all be eating steak.

I don't think those "key members of parliment" would have ever shown up on the show

remember Angel, the "senior partners" Never made an apperence even though they get reffered to 9 times in every episode.

I'd like to meet the baby Zoe wasn't so afraid of losing she didn't mean to have it (sigh:(). Also like to see the others that where at the academy with River. What can they do? More members of the blue handed guys with the strange sticks of bleeding; I need to know!

Key members of Parliament. Key

Don't think I'd want to meet these players. It may be your last.

tons of other contacts mal has around the verse, such as some of the folk he listed off in the first ep. when zoe didn't like patience. can't remember any names, but it'd be interesting to see what exists other then badger and the like. i always thought those folk helped to add a tuch of reality in how different they mostly are.

Any of the 40 or so ranch hands that helped raise Mal when he was growing up. Surely one would be a father figure to him. And maybe one convinced him to join the Independents during the war.

MAL: Zoe, contact Brennert and Ellison. See if they'd be interested in fencing a priceless artifact for us.

Two unseen characters from "Trash," named for writers Alan Brennert and Harlan Ellison, who collaborated on the 1980s "Twilight Zone."

There's just no end of goodies to be dug up from this show, is there?

Let's see...the characters we Browncoats never got to meet...okay, how's about:

1. Mrs. Reynolds (Mal's mother) - cuz it would have been interesting to see what kind of influence she had on her son (even if only in flashbacks cuz she's dead)

2. Wash's family - would have been neat to see if anybody was like Wash in personality or were then drones for a factory like at least one author has portraye them in fan fiction.

3. Zoe's family - gotta see how she was shaped as a person. Hell, Zoe could have been like Wash until something bad happened to her family....

4. Jayne's mom - come on...everyone here has wondered how Joss & Co. would have handled Jayne's mom....petite Betty Crocker clone or badass bounty hunter type? Or something inbetween, perhaps?

5. Any other Academy students - neat fight sequences would have occurred betweeen River or another crewmember and a "successful" Academy graudate

6. Inara's parents - you have to wonder what kind of family life she had to end up as a Companion, cuz age 12 seems a might young for a career decision unless she was mature for her years or there was a need for her to enter the Guild's training program.

7. More of Mal and Zoe's business contacts besides Badger and Patience, since knowing who got 86ed by the Operative & Co. during the BDM would make their deaths seem more poignant.

8. The 57th Overlanders before Serenity Valley besides Tracey - gotta know who Mal led into battle and got killed. Would have added some extra facets to the series.

9. A previous owner of "Serenity" - hell, someone else besides me has to have wondered how she got to that ship lot shown in "Out of Gas." Especially if they hid something aboard they wanted back.

10. Kaylee's family - just to see if how authors have portrayed them even come close to how the show would have had them act. Maybe like the Burkles

Good list BlueEyedBrigadier.

I'd add Mal's father to the list though. Did he leave Mal and his mother? or did he die? if so how and did he influence Mal's character?

How about Jayne's father and brothers and sisters. I always picture him being the oldest of several siblings (besides Matty) and his father as being abusive. (Thanks HisGoodgirl)

WHOOPS

I know we did get to meet River and Simons mum and dad breifly but id like to have found out more about them especially the fact that they didnt help their own daughter and brother. Seemed like an interesting story in its self.

Fast forward to the BDM II. We indeed get to meet Wash and Zoe's baby, because she's 9 months preggers! We all know there'd be some gun play or hair raising action going on as Zoe delivers Wash Jr. Ok, we already had a full scale battle going on during 1 delivery ( Heart of Gold ) , but Joss and Co can certainly come up w/ something interesting.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

Yay! You guys rock. I knew I should've looked a little harder before posting my own thread (Is Zoe Pregnant?). This is an excellent scenario, AURaptor! I can totally see it.
