ADELINE

Hey there,
After cursing fox and all of their gorram, inbred, hell spawned ways after watching the last episode, I did as all those who were impacted by Firefly/Serenity did; sought others.
So after a week of interchanging Chinese slang while hunting down a brown duster, I finally realized that I had better find healthier way for my love of the show to manifest.
Looking through the boards I was pleased and excited to find real conversation and intelligent supposition; FF/Serenity has a cool fanbase, how else could Serenity ever even have existed?
Hats off to you awesome people, hopefully I can bring something of worth to the community.

Nice to meet y'all,
~Adel

Hat's off to you! Well, that is, if I wore a hat. I have a tuque, but it ain't winter here (Canada) no more (thank my dear and fluffy lord) so I sure as hell won't be wearing it for at least another... month :p

I needs me a brown duster, too... I hate being a poor student. BTW, that avatar rules :D

Your post here is equally as pleasing and exciting, rest assured. See ya 'round :D

Sweet Adeline, welcome to this crazy place.
Can't believe how many 'coats are showing up.
We like to give new people lots of warmth, 'cos it's love that keeps her in the air.

FollowMal hands out the virtual browncoats, and she'll probably find you soon enough.

Come on to the galley, get your tin mug, and we'll issue a dose of Mudder's Milk so you can sip it while you survey the goodies laid out there.
Berries front and center. Sour cream dip today.

Take care not to step on the ShipsCat....or into her dish...

*Feels uber loved
Thanks for the warm welcomes ^-^
As for how I found the show, well.....

It was a dark and stormy night when, after a family gathering, my step-brother and I decided to depart to catch a movie. Not knowing what was playing, on a hunch we entered the theater to see Serenity. Dimmly in the back of my mind I could remember my eldest sister had mentioned something about it, and so I figured that it was time to seek out new sci-fi.
Oh, if only I had known.
I came out of that theater with my eyes the size of saucers and a new mission....to see it again.
Now, with movies being 9.25 in my area, it's very rare that a poor college student like myself would ever dish out the cash to see a movie, much less to see one again. See it again I did, after dragging a friend up from another town to bask in the glory.
It took some time inbetween to track down the dvd's, and even more time to watch them all, but watch them I did and here I am, totally taken up by the 'verse.

Anyways, not so interesting but that's the story ^-^

Thanks again,
~Adel

Welcome to the site Adel. Everyone is really cool here. Glad you made it. The more Browncoats the better!

Who's one of your favorite characters? I'm guessing Inara but I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. ;)

My favorite character?
Well, I think I like them all, in different combinations.
Independantly, I'm going to have to go with Mal. He's the character I've a feeling I'd get along with best in real life.
I love the interplay between Kaylee and Inara, and yes, Inara is my second favorite character.
Honestly, I love them all for different reasons.
In a second season, I'd be interested to see Simon come to his own as well as Jayne make some moral decisions ( love him as I do for his insisten immorality ^-^)and perhaps gain some "people skills."
Additionally, I'm curious to see where Zoe, as a warrior and a woman, will develope.
Anyways, I hope dreaming becomes reality.

I liked your answers. I feel the same. It's so hard to pick a favorite. There is something special about all of them. If I have to choose I always go with River just because I thought her character development was amazing. I love Kaylee because she is such a cutie. I think her and I would have some witty banter to go around because she's so positive and I'm kinda a glass is half empty kinda gal. Kaylee reminds me of my friend from work.

Inara intrigues me. She's so pretty. :) Zoe is such a strong female character, and I love that about her.

I also would like to see Jayne go through some real moral decisions, and actually face them head on. We kind of got that from Jayne's Town, but like I said I would like to see him actually come to terms with his situations. Then again Jayne is Jayne for a reason. Love the guy.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Welcome to the site Adeline! Glad to have you here w/ us.

Yep, we all went through the cursing Fox stage, some of us while they were screwing with the episode order & preempting us for baseball. To be honest I still curse Fox from time to time. Normally on Friday nights.

Be sure to spread the word Adeline. Share the series and the movie w/ all your friends. We need to push the movie DVD hard if we are to have any hope of a sequel. Universal is watching the DVD sales & if we don't keep spreading the word the future ain't looking so bright.
