Anyone know what it is? I tried to zoom in on it and it almost looks like Serenity, but I can't be sure.

Nathan mentioned once that it's some sort of Egyptian symbol and that if he had it to do over again he wouldn't have gotten it. That's all I know.

Yeah, I'd heard that before too - that he regrets getting it. Kind of a pity really. I got a Celtic knot on my lower back and I absolutely adore it. I'd hate to have a tattoo on my body that I ended up not liking!

Say, did anyone figure out if Jayne's tattoo is real or not? Or what it was? Wasn't there a thread on that one a while back? *runs off to search*

Now, wait, didn't Tracey in The Message have a similar tattoo on his back? I assumed it was a military thing... didn't realize it was actually Nathan's.

Still... leaving it visible when Mal was naked was a conscious production choice, so maybe they incorporated it in-universe and put it on Tracey?

Useful to have a good shot of Nathan's tattoo, though I myself don't perhaps, ah, *appreciate* that shot as much as some here. Anybody have a good pic of Tracey's tattoo?

You know, I bet that's the actor's tattoo. I've seen that before; looks a lot like Godsmack's logo. It's a little too close in to tell for sure, but the shape is right. It's kind of tribal style, which makes it look similar to Nathan's at first glance, but it's definitely a sun stylized a lot like the Godsmack logo.
The Blue Sun theory kind of works, too, but I don't think they're creative enough to put an actual blue sun on their... property.
