This shiny gem has surely been mentioned before, but isn't it time we get a bit excited about it? It's coming out in two days!

http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=13-420

I wonder when it's gonna be available in Europe, since postage from the U.S. would probably gonna be almost as much as the item itself.
10 bucks say this thing is gonna sell out pretty quick. It's expensive-ish, but since when has that stopped our madness? NOTHING can stop our madness! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

What medicine?

EDIT: What the hell? The link above says it's available June 14th, while this one...

http://www.scifi-collector.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=
240

says it's coming out this month. I must have sort of mixed them together to think it was coming out in 2 days. My bad, sorry. Anyone knows when it WILL come out?

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

The release date says "June" so it's more two months than two days. *EDIT* I see you caught that, though. I wonder when it's coming out, too, now. I'll just have to bug my local comic/gaming store, I guess. I'm betting, though, that DarkHorse has it right.
It's shiny.
I want one.

Actually, everywhere I've looked it won't ship until 6/14 which is more like two months.

Not that we shouldn't be excited about it, of course.

You edited up there, too? And now your last post blocks my direct, quote-less reply to MRS, which I'm going to have to edit now. This is becoming one confusing thread!

Not really.

But, if I work for an hour, it's a lot easier to justify playing for two

Fair enough.

To make it look like we're still on topic, don't the thrusters on the sides look a little too small in proportion? Or small-ish, since I'm obviously in an ish-y mood.

I kind of thought so, but hey, it's better than nothing, correct?

What I'm really waiting for is the kit. I haven't done any scale modeling in 20 years but it used to be one of my favorite hobbies. Would dearly love to have the Serenity kit to build and put in my office.

Well, you said "you guys reply too fast" so I assumed you were responding to my unedited comment, which I added a big capitol EDIT to.
Wacky fun.

I guess this is the reason for the differing release dates:

Quote:

Dark Horse Comics displayed their upcoming Serenity spaceship ornament this week at the popular trade show. As reported earlier, this 6" long ornament will be available in April from tfaw.com and other online retailers for about $20. Don't call it a model.

It was SUPPOSED to come out this month, but I guess they couldn't finish it in time. As punishment for this, I'm gonna call their ornament a model, but only this once. That'll show'em. Maybe it'll be enough to make them see the error of their wikked ornament-too-late-finishing-ways.

After I created this thread, I saw that it was good and wanted to look at the pretty picture of the ornament again, for well deserved brain-soothing. It was then that I noticed the June release date on the Dark Horse page. I was immediately intrigued. Something was amiss! Being a man of action, I wanted to edit my deceiving post to quickly cover my shame, but ALAS! Two replies already. What was I to do? Hwai was tight. No choice but to admit my failure and hope for forgiveness, and maybe change the subject at an opportune moment.
Speaking of opportune moments, I found out that those are excellent for changing the subject!

But back on subject, no, I didn't reply to you at first, since I hadn't noticed that anyone had replied yet when I caught my mistake and edited my post. I'll be happy to reply to you in the future, though, now that we have this special bond.

MRS, why are the thrusters too small? I'm sure it's your fault somehow.

See there, now you sound like my gorram wife.

On that note, (the thrusters too small note, I mean) I read somewhere that the release of the ornament had been pushed back because they weren't happy with the detail and were going to make some modifications and re-cast. Maybe the thruster issue is [one of the] the modification(s)? Who knows. At any rate I have an alarm set in my datebook to make sure I order one early enough to avoid them running out of stock.

MRS

EDIT-- And, on THAT note, I am going to disappear for a bit. Need to get the kid off to school and wife off to work so I can have a little peace around here and throw a few words at the page. I'll check in later.

I DO feel kind of close to you after this intimate conversation, like I can tell you anything. I also
have the urge to cause a scene with you in public. We'll get to that.

Hey, I'd buy it the way it is on the prototype picture, so if they make it betterer, well, all the betterer!

EDIT(which slowly develops into a parallel universe to this thread): Catch you later, MRS!

Okay...

Is this the part where I point out how "unsettlin'" that is?

Ah, don't worry, it's all just for fun. I was obviously in an especially silly mood.
And yeah, a model would be nice, preferrably with shiny lights. I like shiny lights.
To tell you the truth, I don't even think that the Serenity is that beautiful a ship compared to others, shape-wise (The Falcon being my favorite, hands down).
But what can I say, it feels like home, and I don't really care what she looks like. Must be love.
