BITTERBIERCE

Can anyone list the Buffy episode's Nathan was in, pretty please? I have a series of girlfriend's burned DVD's. By my count there are six hundred and twelve and I don't know where to start.

I've never been able to stomach the thought of even LOOKING at Buffy before now because -and see if this logic makes sense- it's named Buffy the goddamned Vampire Slayer and its about a high school girl who fights supernatural beings. Whedon's deal with the Devil CLEARLY did not include the "Make snappy show names" clause.

Anyway, I can't bring myself to watch through it. I probably will as soon as I see the Fillion ones and come crawling back for a humiliating backtrack on Buffy, but for now I just can't. Can y'all list the season and episodes for me?

Nate's on the final five episodes of the series.

Actually the name of the show was very carefully thoughtout. Joss wanted the juxtaposition of a valley girl name like Buffy and the seriousness that should be vampire slaying. The show is about genre bending and turning cliches onto their heads.

I really recommend to start at the beginning, just because this show really builds on what has happened in the past. This show is more like a 144hr movie.

If you're just interested in Nathan Fillion then by all means watch just those eps- he is of course brilliant in them.

BitterBierce: You sound a lot like me - BEFORE I got myself hooked on Buffy and all things Joss! I saw the original BtVS movie when it came out on VHS; thought it was "kinda cute", but sure as hell couldn't see how it could support a whole TV series. Boy, was I wrong!

If you like Joss's wit and writing, you'll likely fall in love with the series. And then with the spinoff series, Angel. Yeah, I thought that was one of the stupidest ideas for a series I'd ever heard, too. Until I got hooked on it. Now I own all seven seasons of Buffy and all five of Angel on DVD - and I've watched them all more than once.

It's addictive, I tell's ya! But in a good way.

For the record, I'm 43. And I *love* Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Never saw a single episode of any of Joss's shows when they were originally on the air, but I've been trying to make that up to him. And more than once, I've found myself in a comic book shop, looking for more Buffy and Angel stuff (and more Firefly stuff as well, but haven't found that yet; the guy says they can't keep 'em in stock, they sell out so fast!). And I'm a guy who didn't read comics even as a kid. It's THAT kind of addictive.

Get ready to be well and truly creeped out by Caleb, Nathan's character on Buffy. He's not your typical bad guy. And don't say I didn't warn you when you start buying the seasons on DVD... :)
