Who are your dream actors and actresses for a movie, if you could pick anybody from anywhere?

Please limit your picks to 4 actors and 4 actresses.

Mine are:
1. Nathan Fillion
2. Morena Baccarin
3. Monica Bellucci
4. Christian Bale
5. Clive Owen
6. Jessica Alba
7. Jason Statham
8. Eva Green

"I aim to misbehave."
"Can't do something smart, do something right".

HOMER: "Oh Lisa, you and your stories; Bart is a vampire, beer kills brain cells. Now lets go back to that... building thingy... where our beds and T.V.... is".

1. Bruce Willis
2. Stanley Tucci
3. Gene Hackman
4. John Cusack

1. Judi Dench
2. Audrey Hepburn
3. Emma Thompson
4. Felicity Huffman

Interesting. I had to strain to get 4 women and yet I'm kicking myself that I can't include Bill Murray, Morgan Freeman, Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Spacey, William H. Macy among many others.

To justify my decision, I think Bruce Willis is severely underrated (watch how he holds the screen in Twelve Monkeys or Pulp Fiction), more people should know who Stanley Tucci is, Gene Hackman seems incapable of giving a bad performance and there can never be too many John Cusack films.

Judi Dench just kicks ass in everything she does (though I haven't seen the Chronicles of Riddick), Audrey Hepburn has a quality onscreen that few others can touch, Emma Thompson is an all round genius and Felicity Huffman has had the lead in two great television shows (ah, Sports Night, another show gone before it's time, though at least it got to get plenty of digs at TV execs before it went) plus she's a very credible actress on the big screen too.

Well, the two from FIREFLY I want the most is Jewel and Sean. I'm writing my first real screenplay this summer, and I'm writing the two main characters with them in mind. I always felt they deserved a movie for themselves to act in as leads in maybe a romantic flick. I remember when I went to see ELIZABETHTOWN a few weeks after SERENITY, and I kept thinking to myself "This movie would be so much better with Sean and Jewel instead of fucking Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst." The former I could care less about and the latter has far too much overexposure. I could never understand her appeal.

Oddly enough, there are few A listers that I would want to work with. I suppose the biggest names that I would like to have in any of my movies are either Natalie Portman, Keifer Sutherland or Kevin Spacey. I'm not sure if she's a "name' or not, but Elisha Cuthbert I would love to put in a flick. I always got the sense with her that she can be an incredible actress, but has never really landed a role that utilizes her talents.

Most of the people I'd want to work with are only known in specific circles. Comedic actors from sketch shows, for example. People like Joe Flahrety, Kevin McDonald, Dave Foley, Tommy Davidson off the top of my head. Also a lot of voice over actors. Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Frank Welker, Tress McNeill, Rob Paulson, Jess Harnell, practically anyone who makes a living doing cartoon voices. In Canadian Cinema circles, I'd like to have Don McKellar in one of my flicks.

Danny Trejo from Robert Rodriguez's movies I would definitly cast. Just came to me.

I dunno. If I were to make movies, I would prefer to cast unknowns or non-actors in my flicks for two reason. 1. Because actors are literally dime a dozen, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who need a break more than other people. And 2. Because having non-actors in a role sometimes brings a level of authenticity to a flick that you sometimes can't get.

And even if I were to cast a "name' actor, I would prefer to cast someone whom a few select know as opposed to a brand name so that they can buy them in the role they're playing.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"There's only one "Return" ok, and it ain't "of the King", it's "of the Jedi."

"Maybe we should start calling your friend 'Padme' because he loves 'Mannequin Skywalker' so much, Right? (imitating robot) Danger...danger...my name is Anakin...my shitty acting is ruining saga."

Excerpt of internet teaser for CLERKS 2.

Good for you! I just finished a full-length script about 4 weeks ago, and I am currently in pre-production with my friends to begin filming it in mid to late July. It's gonna be fun.

Same here. but if I were ever lucky enough to get A listers, I would only prefer to have one in order to get people in the door. Then have the unknowns hold the audience's attention.

And for narration and voice overs I would love to have Christopher Lee. I love his voice. And Sir Ian McKellen.

So long as Jewel's in it, I'll be happy...

But, for a "real" list (subject to change of course)

Steve Buscemi
Jeff Goldblum (Not sure why, but he's just so... odd.)
John Malkovich (I enjoy a good under-stated actor.)
Jack Black ('Cause literally anything he does cracks me up.)

Jewel Staite
Scarlett Johanssen (The reason I've seen some not-so-good movies lately and still rather enjoyed them :)
Jodi Foster (Remember how she used to be a talented actress before all those bad roles?)
Summer Glau

'Course, my dream cast is everyone from Serenity... (felt I should try and keep from just listing all Firefly actors for the obvious reasons :)

Alan Tudyk
Robert Carlisle (has anyone one ever seen Ravenous?)
Joe Pesci
George Clooney

Goldie Hawn
Bette Midler
Julianna Marguiles
Mira Sorvino

It would be a really strange movie though, I have no idea what it would be about to have all these actors and actresses in it!

Gorram, FollowMal beat me to it. LOL.

So instead, I'll choose:

1. Alan Tudyk (for some reason, I want to see him play a bad guy!)
2. Paul Bettany (Chaucer, A Knight's Tale)
3. Scott Cleverdon (Pyriel, The Prophecy 3)
4. Bill Nighy (Slartybartfast, Hitchhiker's Guide)

1. Laura Fraser (Kate the Farrier, A Knight's Tale)
2. Madeline Kahn (Mrs White, Clue) - yes I know she is no longer with us...
3. Fanny Ardant (Pierrette, 8 Women)
4. Gina Torres (Zoe)

Written by Joss Whedon and Tim Burton
Directed by Brian Helgeland

That's going to be one weird movie.

I've thought of a few more names, both you and old to add to my list.

Kevin Kline (a true actors actor. Can be funny as hell and serious as cancer, and sometimes in the same flick as well)

Guy Pearce (fuck Russell Crowe. This Aussie import is a true chameleon and transform himself into anything)

Humphrey Bogart (If I could bring back from the dead a member of true Hollywood royalty from the 40's and 50's, it would have to be him. You know how on THE SOPRANOS, Tony asks "Whatever happened to Gary Cooper?" Well for me, the question is "Whatever happened to Humphrey Bogart?" He was a man's man and who wasn't a prick at all. He who wasn't too handsome or too ugly, who had range and whom both men and women could be comfortable around. Host leading men nowadays are either too pretty for their own good or meat headed bodybuilders. They don't have the balance that Bogie struck.)

Catherine Keener, Frances McDormand (two real, honest to God, legitimate actress)

And my favorite current acting couple, Peter Sarsgaard and Maggie Gyllenhall (in a perfect world, the tabloids would be constantly hounding them and not fucking Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Two supremely talented people who I think are perfect for each other)

And if I could wrangle them from their tv shows over the summer, I'd also go with Jason Lee and Rainn Wilson. Jason's been great since MALLRATS eleven years ago, and I'm so glad MY NAME IS EARL came along so that now everyone knows just how great of a comedic actor he is. And as for Rainn, all I gotta say is Dwight. Nuff said.

Good one, I'm proceeding with the assumption that I can raise the dead.

Nathan Fillion- He can give me funny and gravity.
Jack Black- Nothing better than Tenacious D.
Ben Stiller- I defy you not to giggle while you watch Mystery Men.
Phil Hartman- The finest commedian ever produved by SNL.

Gwenyth Paltrow- The ladies' version of Nathan.
Jessica Alba- Um, well, you know.
Summer Glau- The tops for a youngster.
Angelina Jolie- Similar to Nathan, can go both ways.

There you go. As you can see I'm exposing my preference for comedy, but with Nathan and Angelina we can at least go action/comedy.

You'll note that at the beginning of my post I started with the assumption that one could raise the dead. Besides, you can't leave him out, he's the tops!

Edit: After watching SNL last night I'm convinced that even deceased he's still funnier than the entire present cast.
