I e-mailed some sci-fi news sites with the address to the serenity day website with a view to helping, and I got my first reply this aft:

"We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days,
Through the fire and the flames we carry on"

I've said it before and I'll say it again: The SF community can not be topped. Shiny

That sounds like the message of Serenity Day is to get a new movie instead of thanking Universal for the one we have (and let the rest take care of itself). That's tactically unwise, and I thought it was agreed on that the message is supposed to be "Thank You", not "Gimme". At least I hope it still is. Although I think it still has the "old" text on the Serenity Day site.
Also, judging by the news snippet, it looks like Serenity Now/Equality Now is just a part of Serenity Day, a misunderstanding we wanted to avoid like the plague as to not step on the Serenity Now/Equality Now guys' toes.
So - although I welcome your enthusiasm - please wait until Kaele's squad puts out the official "press" text or join the Signal Corps, because now someone will have to contact Sci-Fi Online and put things right, which might make us look ill unorganised again. Or ARE you actually from the Signal Corps? What's with the "press release" saying it's about getting a new movie? Of course we want a new movie, but I thought everyone agreed that it was a bad idea to write that on our banners? What's going on?

No bad vibes in this post, I'm just saying...

BROWNCOATS UNITE!

Nope, I can officially state that this wasn't part of the Signal Corps - we just do the lil' things. But you've got a good point, Ags. Keyoke, have you talked to Kaele or whoever is currently in charge of the 'contacting webmasters' mission?

Tried too, but waited a few days and got no reply. Not wanting to hang around I kinda took the initiative.

I didn't actually tell them anything, just pointed out the websites, so if the information is wrong its the websites fault for not being clear, not mine.
