Ok, since I'm pretty new to the 'verse, I have not had many opportunities to convert others. I still just have my 1 copy of the series and the BDM.

Well, I recently lent out disks 1 & 2 of the series to a friend, and he's totally hooked. He is on disk 2 so he passed disk 1 on his mother-in-law. She is now hooked. She watched disk 1 (twice in two days, in fact) and then passed it on to her son. They're begging me to give them disks 3 and 4. Of course, I'll oblige, but this means I'll be without my copy of the series. *sniff* (Incidentally, I told my wife just last night, as we were finishing up her well-deserved Mother's Day celebrations, that if our two boys -- ages 4 1/2 and 8 months -- wanted to get me a little something for Father's Day, another copy of the series would be very shiny indeed. )

Anyway, having my first set of converts is great -- I'm now working on getting them to come with me to the Raleigh Serenity Now/Equality Now screening of the BDM in June.

The growth of Browncoats continues. What's that saying about slow and steady winning the race?

Hello, and what a shiny 'verse it is huh?

Don't you just get such a warm feeling from introducing people to such a clearly fantastic thing?

I'm in the same boat, my series is with my work colleague, and I miss it. But I think he's gonna buy it so all is well. Problem is I think I'll have to lend it to my Dad too, and that means I'll be without it for months .

Anyway it seems that you are meeting with the usual high level of success, so keep it up, and good luck for fathers day.

Good for you! Isn't it exciting?

I've just this evening confirmed my first convert - he's watching 'Jaynestown', again, as I type. One day, I'll have a nice group of Firefly fans rallying in my dusty little town and then...bring on the shindigs!

RBC,

I have found for sheer preservation of sanity purposes that multiple copies of the BDSeries and the BDM are important to have. I can't go two days without my Firefly/Serenity fix ... I get the shakes.

I play the series in the lobby/office at my business... so now my worker has gotten converted and had me order he and his family a copy. He came in the other day and asked if I'd please order him two sets as he wants to share with his brother and doesn't want to be without.

My Mom has ordered 2 more sets cuz she wants to share but not miss Mal. She doesn't like missing Mal, it's bad for her health she says.

So we keep spreading the signal... you can't stop the signal.

Oh, and RBC.. it is so shiny you have a screening happening close.. I am so rural I'm gonna miss out on this chance to see the BDM and do good works!

"You hold. Hold 'til I get back." Mal

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Congrats on the converts Raleighbrowncoat!

Introducing new people to the 'verse and seeing and hearing their reactions to the show just helps me to relive my own excitement at discovering Firefly.

Keep up the good work!
