I just got sent one for my birthday (shiny) though I don't yet have a picture of me in it to show you all here (it's pretty cunning though, dont'cha think?)

Just wondering, as I do, how many other people are proud owners of THE HAT.

EDIT: er, well, actually, when I say 'just' I should confess, it was actually the 8th, but this month is going faster than a Firefly pulling a Crazy Ivan and going for hard burn!

- Shiny. Let's be bad guys.

America loves a winner!

Congrats and happy b-day. While I don't have a Jayne hat myself, I'm sure plenty here have their own. At the last DragonCon, I saw a fair amount of Jayne hats.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

A buddy of mine made me one for Xmas, it's mighty cunning. In return, I gave her a shiny new Firefly set.

One day.
One plan.
One army of Browncoats.

On June 23rd, we aim to misbehave.

Well, I've made more than 200, and have sold more than 200 kits. I know others who've made multiples as well. I think it's safe to say there are a lot of guys and gals walking down the street looking like they're not afraid of anything. :)

WHITEFALL

Ironically enough, I got one, "it's from my mother!". too bad she didnt go the extra mile and put it in a paper box full of straw and give me a dead guy along with it....... eh nvm. :)

No, but it's an awesome hat.

Here's a little story for ya all...

I went to a high school-age Thespian Festival a few months back, a few days after I got my hat, and I was absolutely dedicated to wearing my hat the whole time. So that's gorram well what I did. :) I got many a "my what a CUNNGING hat you've got there". My favorite conversation: (paraphrased)

Other girl: Me and my friends were wondering... how did you make that hat?! It's really nice.
Me: Well, my mom made it. She knits.
OG: She made it? Oh... (looking a little disappointed I think) well, cool. (Starts to leave)
Me: By the way... why do you ask? You just like the color or something?
OG: Well, it sorta reminds us of a character from a show....
Me: Jayne?
OG: YEAH!!

There insued a mighty high-five. Anyways, several other encounters, but by the end of the weekend, I got complements from people who didnt even know it was a Jayne hat, that I was just cool for wearing a bright yellow/orange snow hat for 3 days in an air conditioned building. So the moral is: walk down the street (or into a thespian convention) in that hat like you're not afraid of anything, and... well... it'll work out. Or maybe thespian folk are just cool. /shrug.

So ends my tale, true story of, as I came to be known cause of the top part of the hat, "bauble boy".

Good times...

I survived a day in Whitefall and all I got was this lousy signature!

DARKJESTER

I have my very own Jayne hat, made by Serenity herself (CallMeSerenity here at FFF.net). I ordered two from her earlier this year. One was a prize for the article-writing contest we had at the Firefly Talk podcast, and the other I kept for myself 'cause someday I may want to show everyone that I'm not afraid of anything!

MAL "You only gotta scare him."
JAYNE "Pain is scary..."

I do, it's freakin awesome. It makes my friends just crack up laughing whenever I put it on, it's great fun.

"Haha, mine is an evil laugh."

Unfortunately, I don't have that hat. I wish I did. But then again, I'd look pretty stupid in it; not everyone can pull off Jayne's coolness in such apparel. I'm one of the unlucky...
