Was wondering how many people in the verse are military. I myself am a cadet in ROTC at the University of Texas An Antonio on a TDY at Robbins AFB, Georgia.

If you are military go ahead and throw in rank, that would be cool as well.

-Siklis Pakem Parabellum, "If You Want Peace Prepare For War!"-

-Bravery is not the absence of fear, this is a foolish notion. Bravery is the mental capacity to work through fear toward a higher purpose.-

-"Everybody dies alone." Malcolm Reynolds Our Captain!-

I'm a midshipman at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. And before anyone asks, no its not anything like the movie.

One day.
One plan.
One army of Browncoats.

On June 23rd, we aim to misbehave.

I did 4 years active duty in the Army, mostly in sunny CA, 4 years Army Reserve in PA and 13 years as an Army spouse. You might say that for 15 years I lived, ate, and slept Army. Now I'm just a civilian single Mom living smack in between one of the largest Army bases and Marine Corps bases on the east coast.

I've recently found some Navy and Marine Browncoats currently stationed in Iraq and sent a copy of the BDS and BDM on June 23 for their little library.

I'm technically not military, but my husband is a 1st Lt in the Air Force. We're down at Lackland AFB in San Antonio - we actually just moved down here last week. I don't think I'll ever get used to the heat. Or the bugs. But there's tons to do around here, the people are friendly, and we have a nice house, so I think it'll feel like home soon enough. Probably just about when it's time to move again. =)

I'm not in the military but pretty much my whole family is. My husband is a Staff Sergeant in Air Force. In-laws are retired military. Brother-in-law and best friend in the Marines. There are too many to go over. I think out of all of them though only two of us are Browncoats. If they'd only give Firefly a chance.

I'm so into Firefly, my butt glows in the dark.

Heya, Cap. Former Navy man here: I spent 10 years in and was honorably discharged as an Intelligence Specialist First Class Petty Officer (yes, that's my full rank; IS1 if you're in an abbreviating mood). I did a tour on the USS George Washington (Med Cruise), VFA-94 (WestPac) and Naval Special Warfare Group One (deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq).

I know Static has to be around here somewhere...

Gone to LDAC yet?

I'm a Butter Bar in the Army. Reporting to Hood in January. On the road (literally) for officer training as I type . . .

Looking into U of T for graduate work, actually.

I'm just a lowly Airman First Class over in Georgia. Wish more of my buddies were browncoats, but, alas, I haven't been able to convert them.

May you have enough.

Well, I know that there must be more than what is listed here right now because I have sent many packages (overseas and APO) to our Defenders of the American way. Most of them have traded their Khaki Green Army for a Khaki Brown Blue Sun shirt.

Let me say this, on Tuesday the 4th, when you are eating your hot dogs and swilling your beer just remember that you wouldn't be able to do that if it were not for the FINE and courageous Men & Women of the US Military. Whether stationed around the Globe or in your own back yard they are ALL in need of some thanks. Rifle totin' or desk drivin' all of them play a part in our everyday freedoms.

So from me, THANK YOU! With out you guys & gals we would all probably be wearin' gray pajamas and riding bicycles 'bout now.

Ditto what BlueSun said. A great big THANK YOU!

Father, Brother, Husband all did 20 years in the Navy and I was born on a military base in Africa - does that count?

I would put that close to being right up there with the folk wearin' the uniform. If not for the sacrafice from the families of our Service Men & Women there would surely be a decline in "quality" enlistment. Livin' from base to base, watching our loved ones head off to lands unknow to protect the American way..... Yes, Thank You also. Heroism does not always come in the form of strength or courage, sometimes it is just living everyday life.
