So I grabbed a copy at the pharmacy tonight. The grocery store only had next
week's issue.

TV Guide July 17-23, 2006 Emily Procter/CSI Miami on cover.

"Serenity" now Okay, maybe it doesn't mean anything
or maybe the writer knew about the Serenity Now/Equality Now
Charity Screenings on Joss Whedon's birthday this year. Or maybe Jerry Seinfeld related.

CINEMAX, 10/9c Fans of Fox's late, lamented Firefly won't
be disappointed with writer-director Joss Whedon's smart and
mordantly funny 2005 big-screen follow-up. Set 500 years
in the future, the space ship Serenity and its renegade
crew harbor an unstable but powerful psychic on the lam from
the interplanetary alliance.

Shiny.

LIFE NEEDS ADVENTURE | SERENITY Joss Whedon's cult sci-fi TV series Firefly gets new life in this western-styled thriller that chronicles the adventures of a rickety spaceship's crew in a hostile future. See it Saturday night at 10 pm on Cinemax.

TV Guide took this picture and cropped out
Jayne and put it on page 68. So Mal is there
with part of Jayne's gun next to his head.

The setting is the 26th century in the aftermath of a war whose winner controls a colonized solar system while the losers wander about the perimeter planets.

I think the real shiny thing about the TV Guide highlighting Serenity is that more people get the TV Guide then have Cinemax. Maybe they will go out and rent it. And then buy the DVD. Etc. Etc.

Good point. I wish I had Cinemax! Not that I haven't Serenity plenty of times and not that I can't keep renting it constantly until I can afford to buy it... but, it'd be nice to see it on TV! Not to mention, Cinemax is showing Dodgeball right before Serenity, too. (Alan Tudyk, a.k.a. Wash, is in that. I wasn't overly impressed with the movie itself the first time I saw it, but I thought his character was hilarious! He's so talented.)

Thanks for showing us this article. I hope plenty of not-yet-fans either watch on Cinemax or get interested and go rent it so that they can find their fanhood!

We could use your support and, as people who know the pain of not-so-bright TV execs killing great shows... I think you just might feel for our cause.
