Hey everyone. Well, basically i want some fanfic suggestions. I'm looking for fanfic that is as close to believable as possible. And in terms of shipper fanfic, i would like to have some suggestions for basically any of them, and in particular Simon/Kaylee, Rayne, Mal/river, and mal/inara. but any of the others are good too.

Basically, just give me some suggestions of them best fanfics you can think of, it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I’ll list the links to my two favorite Rayne fic’s (if you haven’t already read them) It’s hard to chose, because there is so much good stuff out there!

Series: Choices by mik109
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2868211/1/

Series“Little moments” by Michmak Start with “expert”

http://www.fanfiction.net/u/234521/

I'm half way through this one, very well written and has every ship.; ) http://fireflyfans.net/fulluserbluesunlist.asp?un=Kaynara

I am currently working on my first Rayne series, though I don’t believe its anywhere near the caliber of the authors above. I’m having fun none-the-less ; D

The links don't seem to be working, so just cut and paste.

What about Mal/River stories?

and crossovers?

and simply post BDM episodic things? Is Virtual Firefly really good (i realise it is about what might have happened if the show had continued and i recognize that it is meant to be a kind of alternative history sort of thing)? I've read a couple, but do they stay good?

I was gonna point ya at Kaynara's stuff but someone already beat me to it.

But...when ya want a bit o'fun afterwords, check out ManiacGiraffe's fics. The Wardrobe Malfunction ones are freakin' hilarious. And the Dino Tales... Oh, the link: http://www.fireflyfans.net/fulluserbluesunlist.asp?un=ManicGiraffe
(OOH! There's a new one! I gotta go read it! )

Crossovers? Well, EmmaRigby has a nice one going: http://www.fireflyfans.net/fulluserbluesunlist.asp?un=EmmaRigby

Enjoy!!

Well, I think Virtual Firefly stays good. :-)

Which episodes have you read? I think until about "Perfect Sunset" (which many say is season one's best episode) the project was still finding itself. After that, its all golden.

Season two has seven episodes out so far. I'd say episode 2x03 is a little bellow the others in quality, but the rest really hit the mark. Standouts are 2x02, 2x04, and 2x07.

But who are you to believe me? Go read them yourself. Then join the message board and give us feedback: http://stillflying.net/forum/index.php

Okay, let me see.

For Post-BDM episodic type stories:

Well there's New Prospects, which is a wonderful (and complete!) episode-style post-BDM adventure, which is great and one of my favorite post-movies stories so far.

There is also Antebellum, which is still in progress but is going great, or CABridges's Where the Devil Drives, which proposes to be a post-Serenity novel, but it's only on its third chapter, though they're well worth the read and the wait.

And don't forget GeekUSA's second season, which is also very good. :)

You should find all of these in the Blue Sun Room.

As for Mal/River, there are quite a few out there, but you can start by taking a look at the links here (which also provides an interesting analysis of Mal/River, though not one I completely agree with): http://community.livejournal.com/ship_manifesto/134862.html

But there's a couple more you could read. The Serenity Now series, which is archived here. Or an absolutely beautiful collection of ficlets by hereswith that is leading, but is not yet there, to Mal/River ( http://hereswith.livejournal.com/24721.html#cutid1),

Then there's Tears of the Fallen at fanfic.net (and its pre-Mal/River prequel You Can't Go Home Again), which was one of my first Mal/River stories and features a more mature and older River and a slow and belieavble progression into a romantic relationship, whilst involving adventure and a plot! Start with You Can't Go Home Again and then follow into Tears of the Fallen. You can find the two here: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/147048/

As for crossovers, there really aren't many out there, though there may be more soon since there's a Crossover Contest going on. Winding River is a good suggestion, though. :)

NCBROWNCOAT

If you're looking for Mal/Inara fanfic look at "Ifs and Maybes" at http://community.livejournal.com/mal_inara/. Lots of good reads there.

I think the best is a series nicknamed "Sushific", for 2 goldfish that take up residence on Serenity. It's a variety of Mal/Inara fluff and angst, each written by Ceslas, Browncoat_2x2, goldy, terimaru and others. The best stories so far have the name of Choices and Never Runs Smooth. Some have been posted in the Blue Sun Room but most haven't.

Also Legacy by druinsanty and bashipforever is also a good place to start. It's based on an Emily Dickinson poem so you know there's lots of angst.
