So I was looking at Serenity props at the Propstore of London, and I noticed something. A lot of the costumes worn by the Serenity actresses included underwear. Does that seem weird to anyone else? I mean, an outfit worn by an actor or actress is one thing, but the underwear too? Not only that, but it would specify bra size. I kinda felt like "that creepy guy," now knowing Summer Glau's bust size. The whole thing just struck me as odd.

I recall thinking the same thing when I looked at the prop store stuff.

That's very odd. A bit gross, too. I think I'd be pretty weirded out by it if I were one of the stars.

The bras I can somewhat understand, since many hand-made costumes have bras sewn directly into them. But underpants? Can't see how that'd be integral to the outfit...

Yuck. That's some major squickiness.

Maybe the thought is that folks won't actually wear it, but the thought of a pair of panties in a glass display case is even more disturbing.

Guy2..."FireFly box set"

Guy1..."Better"

Guy2..."Better than FF box set? I give up"

Guy1..."Morena's panties!"

Guy2..."Get outta here...."

Guy1..." I'm serious...Look man, I'm wearing them now...."

OK people. Obviously you never heard that an actor dresses for the part from the skin out. For instance, how sexy would Morena feel as Inara if she were wearing a silk kimono dress on the outside and cotton granny pants on the inside. She wouldn't. She would be wearing silk against her skin too.

Ladies, think on it, you are going out and want to feel sexy - what do you wear?

I do not find it odd that costuming provided from the skin out, but I do find it odd that they (the actors) didn't keep the undergarments for themselves.

I'm not surprised about undergarments being made for costumes, FMF...just squicked at them selling them after they've been used.

mmmm wonder what price they would put on Adam Baldwins undies? or Nathans

I guess I am not surprised because I have seen it before.

There was a vintage clothing store in Georgetown. Had womens un-mentionables from era's past. Fancy your grannies undies from 1920?

No....now I can just see there's a run on vintage undies across the world. We can call it the Under Conspiracy!

The master plan? Run 'em up every flag pole we can find.

okay, I need sleep, I know.

We could use them to make sails! When the world oil supply goes bust, we could use wind power!

If they're silk we could make parachutes out of 'em, gather up all the idiot politicians, and dump 'em out a plane over a deserted island.

Not that I'd advocate such a heinous crime...

FMF,
If I remember from the gag reel Nathan mentioning that he doesn't wear undies. Seems to be popular these days. Must be true as I haven't seen an undie line in those tight pants of his either.

Don't know about Adam but he seems like a boxer type to me.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I was looking through the site. Thankfully, the costumes I got from them did not include underwear. Because that's just - ick.
