Loved the Adam quote. Seems being rooted in family does alot for folks. That all I want. To feel those roots grasping at the bedrock of home.
That and some naughty bad fun from time to time.
Thats all I ask.

MSG, yes, yes there is. A company called Seattle Chocolates. They have truffles that will make you melt into a big puddle of bliss...I know, 'cause it happens to me everytime I eat one.

NVG, roots are very important. Can't survive fully without them.

There is a candy Store in Virginia City that has a butterscotch/peanut butter chip fudge that could possibly kill me in one bite.

I think that the GND and I do share alot of similarities. Note: She refuses to have sex until marriage. She is a very wild open minder young woman. I did not expect that from her. Thought it would push me away a bit, but I find it very admirable.

Lost for a moment.

Hey does anyone else ever feel bad when they ruin an object lesson...we were doing stuff at the teacher training and they wanted to show how you could develope an understanding of you student's personality using these set questions..

1- list the last 5 cd's you listen to
2- list the last 5 t.v. shows you watched
3- list the last 5 books you read
4- list 4 friends and one quality that makes you like them

I was picked as demo and my answers were so all over the board that they couldn't fit me in any catagory and it kinda screwed up the activity....ooooooooops

in case for some reason you want my answers they were
(last 5 cd's)
Ricky Martin Ricky Martin
Prince- Best of
50 cent- Massacre
Wicked- broadway cast
Charlie Parker- the essentials
(tv)
Firefly
Csi:Miami
Black Adder
Keen Eddie
Grounded for Life
(5 books)
Sudden Mischief- Robert Parker( spenser for hire)
Memory in Death- J.D. Robb ( romantic suspense)
If Chins Could Kill- Bruce Campbell
Sexual Homicides:patterns and motives- John Douglas
Little House on the Praire

You get the idea...I'm just so all over the map

Hey we should all do this..Ok everyone do the personality questions

OK now the point is to list your answers and then everyone can decide from them what kind of personality you have:)

NV- she sounds like a great friend with the potential over time to be more or not depending, but it's great to have friends of the opposite gender:)

Tristan- have you tried french truffles? They are just the ganache( the inside of the truffle) rolled in cocoa powder...bliss. I reccomend Truffets( you can get them at Costco)

And now a Simpsons quote:
(use phony french accent)
"It has over one million calories per square inch, and chocolate so dark, no light can escape it's surface."
(lose the accent)
"But sir, i've seen this homer simpson fellow eat a horse!"
(ok, more accent)
"Ok, zen we put in some poison too. For good measure."

ANYHOO... Msg, can I just say that, though of course you're already married (and having a LittleG, ) I gotta admire your take on relationships. Attitude and personality should be the most important thing, though physical appearence should be as good as possible (ie hygenic and maybe sorta fit-ish) as sort of a respect thing, but still.

For me, I'm, well I wouldnt say attracted to, but let's say I like looking at female faces with, I guess the term is a lot of character. It might just be beauty and I don't recognize it, but to me some women just have a certain humanity and dignity in their face, and it makes me look twice. Kinda hard with the describing.

Edit for fast-like-a-freak posters... MsG, your list cracks me up. And a hearty WOOT for Wicked soundtrack. And also for the Sexual homicide book!

NVG, hey, that sounds promising! Well, sorta...I mean, she is not just after you for your body...boy, this is going downhill fast, ain't it?
I, myself, find that an admirable quality in a person; the desire to save themselves. Not my cup of tea, personally...I tried to give mine away for almost 5 years before someone finally took me up on the offer...but I respect people that make that decision.

MSG, good job messing with the Alliance! I mean, the school-thingy! Don't let 'em pigeonhole ya! Remain unique! Viva la freedom from pigeonholing!
I'll play!

Last 5 cd's (that weren't mixes):
Allison Krauss & Union Station-Live
Eminem-Curtain Call
Best of ABBA
Led Zeppelin-Physical Graffitti
Kate Bush-Red Shoes

TV Shows: I don't have cable, so this doesn't really count...
Buffy (Season 3...or 2...heck, I don't know; Seth Green just left)
Firefly
Supernatural
Bones
Smallville

Books:
Southern story collection (name escapes me)
Undead and Unreturnable-Mary Janice Davidson
Carpe Jugulum-Terry Prachett (again)
Perused a 14th Century armoring how-to book
Um...

The 4 friends thing...is this real or virtual? And if real...y'all wouldn't know them...

RugBug- I had a thoughtful argument all planned out, but I do miss being around female friends. I find it funny how similar men and women really are when they are allowed to be themselves in a group. Loved the end of a Roseann episode where they show the ladies playin' cards, scratchin' themselves and talkin' all wrong while the guys were doin' god remembers what and talkin' all sensative and the like. Mixin' it up just seems right. Can't wait to go home.

DG187- Really, I rank Rockstar with the other shows of its kind.
But at least they play decent music, there is no Regis, and it has the before mentioned contesant known as Delana. Brooke Burke has a very noteable figure, but Delana rocks the 'verse in so many ways and more.

Thats just the way crushes go I guess.

Some of my fondest memories of females (friends and others) are of them singing. Guys, have you ever had a woman sing to you on stage? How 'bout laying next to you in the dark? Ladies, have you ever sang to anyone?
Not that guys are not capable of singing, there just seems to be something incredible about a woman when she puts everything else away and exposes herself through song.

Just to divert to male/female matters again, what is the best post-relationship relationship people have had? You know, you've been in a serious, committed relationship with someone and then for one reason or another, it ends but you have a friendship with the other person. Or is it impossible?

Kinda makes sense. He gets to hear you sing all the time probably. I once walked in on the ex singing a Beatles song while taking a bath. Instead of draw attention to myself, I walked out of the bathroom and sat on the floor in the hallway and listened. It was the only time I heard her sing those songs when they weren't being sung to me. Like to think that she was thinking of me.
When my best friend Mindy was pregnant she played guitar and sang for me on her sisters porch in Des Moines. Think that was the first time I realized how much I loved her. Ended up leaving Iowa a few days later, she stayed. Seems like that is the kind of relationship I've always had with her.
So much for the feel good mood.

NVG, I love it when a woman sings to me! Being a Drama geek, it happened a lot, but the best times were when it was just two of us. I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket even if I had the Verizon support network backing me up...but I love listening! And yes, at night, snuggled up, right before sleep...
In general, I love the female singing voice. I am attracted to what my wife calls "Warbling females" (Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Evanescence, T.A.T.U., Bjork, etc)...it's ok, though. I give her a hard time about listening to her "whiny men" CD's all the time.

SimonWho, I may be lucky in that most of my former SO's that I still see are friends of mine...there are the exceptions ( French ex-wife), but even if the relationship ended badly, friendship eventually grew again.

That would be what I meant...and I made the mistake because someone burnt the CD for me (shame on them...and me for accepting it, but one of these days I will buy it. ) and wrote Pressure Theives on it. So now I always think of the title that way. ;)

Tristan: I don't make the married guys off limits. They, or their wives, do. I've been relegated to being the wife's friend when I never really knew her before and/or all time is spent with them as a couple.

Edited to say that I love to sing, but am not much of a singer. I can carry a tune if someone next to me can. Basically, I can mimic okay. but I have a dreadfully small range (alto and some tenor...I've got a low voice) and finding my key is difficult. When I play guitar, it's always a guess as to which key I will be able to sing in that day. Sometimes E or D is good, sometimes not so much.

I don't sing to people usually. If you catch me singing in the showe or car, good on ya, but I am too self-conscious about my voice to just sing. I trace that back to being 12 years old, at camp, singing away on a hike and a counsellor saying these exact words (well, she used my real name): "Rugbug, you love to sing, don't you?" pause for my affirmative reply. "Please don't." Ah, the rockstar aspirations of youth crumbled in one shining moment.

Oh, you could use me for a torture device. One minute into my rendition of...well, anything...and they will be spilling their guts just to get me to shutup. I pride myself on that.

Ok, out soon for the weekend. Y'all have a good one!

On Singing:
I sing rather a lot. It amuses me to no end. While I do have a decent enough voice, I have a fairly limited range (can't hit the high notes worth a good gorram), which probably kept me away from Canadian Idol. That, and the fact that I have social anxieties. Hell, I sing at work whilst closing up, not just humming, I mean words coming out and echoing through the building singing.
Nobody's told me to shut up yet, so I guess I ain't that bad, dohn ma?

--------------
I ain't lookin' for help from on high. That's a damn long wait for a train don't come.
