Where:
Wayward Coffeehouse
8570 Greenwood Ave N
Seattle , WA 98103
(206) 706-3240

Description:
Jump into this shiny Shindig and celebrate the anniversary of the release of the movie Serenity! "We've done the impossible and that makes us mighty."

Live music by the Bedlam Bards - nationally known musicians who were inspired by the show Firefly and released a CD to show their passion. They'll have CD's for purchase for any Browncoat (and any future Browncoat) who hears their music and simply must have it.

Finger-food potluck - bring your apples, strawberries, humbow, "wife" soup and any other Serenity/Firefly related munchies to share with those hungry Browncoats and any stray Alliance officials that might wander in.

Costumes are encouraged! There may even be door prizes! (still working on this one)

Bring your friends, family or complete strangers and introduce them to the 'Verse. They will thank you forever.

Did I mention there might be door prizes??

Wayward Coffeehouse is just that...a coffeehouse. Coffee, tea and related beverages are available. Please respect the business and buy your refreshments from them. Violators will be shot....politely.
Nearby bars and pubs have the alcoholic beverages of your choice and will ask you to please finish them within their establishment. Alliance officials will be watching for rebels!

The showing of Firefly episodes and then Serneity starts around 3:30pm. The live music starts around 6:30pm and goes until 10:00pm.
The coffeehouse stays open until around 11:00pm.

Things kept changing and evolving after the original announcement so there will be a plethora of times floating around out there.

Thanks for asking.

Kelai, I'm pretty sure my teen-aged neice will be there. The coffeehouse doesn't serve booze, so I can't see why it wouldn't be open to teens.

BTW, we've recently had confirmation that >>>Michelle Dockrey<<<, the internationally famous author of "Mal's Song," is going to stop by and perform a set. This will be the first time that she and the Bedlam Bards do a concert together!

See you there,

Cedric

"Mal's Song" by Michelle Dockrey is definitely about our captain. Michelle wrote several very stirring verses from his point of view and used "The Ballad of Serenity" as the chorus. It's a really great song. She's working on a studio release of it, but there's a "living room" recording out on the 'net as an MP3--also on the Done the Impossible soundtrack album, available at www.DoneTheImpossible.com.

I got the same thing. I guess mapquest
doesn't know the Wayward Coffeehouse is there.

I used google.com and came up with this
citysearch which knows about the Wayward Coffeehouse

http://maps.citysearch.com/location/41906947

Hope it helps. See the Directions: To here - From here links.

Have a great Shindig!

Google is your friend.

Yahoo maps gave the right area when I put in the address. I'm not sure what the problem is with Mapquest but I don't like using it personally 'cause its gotten me lost a couple times.

Try changing the zip code to 98117 and see if that makes a difference. Sometimes the zip codes overlap in this area.

A huge shiny xie xie to the Bedlam Bards, Michelle Dockery and Tony Fabrie (sorry if I spelled it wrong, Tony) and Brandon Klassen for making our Seattle Sereniversary Shindig the bestest ever! The music was awesome and I'm running out to buy all the CD's I can afford...
You folks were the catalyzer for our Firefly and we couldn't have saved the ship without you.

Don't know. But there is Serenity Charity Screening being planned for
Joss Whedon's next birthday June 23, 2006 in Seattle.

There is already an organizer signed up for Seattle. See http://cantstoptheserenity.com/forum/index.php?board=2.0

Also there is a Seattle Landmark theater. Click on the Seattle link. Give them a call and ask if they are going to screen Serenity sometime soon . http://www.landmarktheatres.com/

At least three Landmark theaters are having midnight Serentiy Screenings in November on Friday and Saturday nights around Veterans day and Thanksgiving. There may be more, but they just haven't posted yet on fandango etc.
