How far would you go for a sequel?

Would you wear a shiny brown coat because it was on sale?

I, for one, need a sequel. I need a trilogy, I crave it. How far would I be willing to go? I'd be willing to donate parts of my paycheck (even though I can't pay a tenth of what some of you can on one of your 'jobs') to a sequel. I'd be willing to donate some money into setting up a paypal account and a serenitysequel.net website. Question is; how far will you people go?

I'd jump in front of goram trains for money, if need be. Selling body parts on ebay? Done. Write letters? Already on their way. Praying? I think God's sending reevers to my house as we speak.

I'd do what ever Joss asked, because, whatever Joss wants, Joss gets!

I'd have to bet most of us here would do whatever we could to help it come into fruition. If money were the only object, I actually suspect we could easily raise enough. Sadly there are other things at play here, but I for one am willing to say - whenever there's a chance to make a difference, no matter how small, I'm ready and standing.

I'm very smart.

I'd give money, do publicity stunts, eat monkeys, whatever. Problem is, nobody's giving out any garuntees these days. So I throw my money and time around, hoping I'm doing right, and spend inane amounts of time on this site, looking for ideas.

Just a question: What do you think is the biggest obstacle in getting Firefly back on the air, or a Serenity sequel made? Money? Rights? Airtime?

I think it's a combination of money and rights. When I'm feeling my most optimistic I like to think that there will be a sequel, but that the companies are simply waiting for the fan base to swell large enough that a sequel would do better in its initial release than "Serenity" did.

Don't make faces.

I gaurantee you that the fan base is large enough now for there needs, they either don't know it or haven't decided what to do about it.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I'd take a trip through the Burnham Quadrant to get a sequel.

I'd seriously peform oral sex on all of the Universal executives in charge if it meant getting a sequel (Mary Parent, I'm looking at you!).

I suspect you're right - I forgot to mention the impact the recent awards might have on their decision. Recognition within the industry seems to be high, and the fan base just keeps growing. Perhaps they're waiting until the last possible moment in order to have the greatest number of people interested? I don't know, I'm not an exec and I'm not sure what methods they use for determining viability. Oh but I hope they do! and soon!

Don't make faces.

Oral sex ...hmm... I think we should send that offer in, guys. It just might tip the scales.

It's okay to leave them to die.

Not sure about the oral sex offer, but I can supply you with free condoms. Flavored you have to find on your own, and we don't have any dental dams around the office either, before you ask.
You might want to consider that the execs might find that a reason to NOT make a sequel before you go offering.

Hmmm, I think we'd do just about anything. We've heard that the movie is getting close to being in the black. It's not just the money issue. Joss is involved in 2 projects right now, so it will be a bit before he's available.

I mailed my thank you letter to Universal on the 'Versary. I e-mailed the Sci Fi to let them know I appreciated them airing Firefly. I posted a wave and uploaded pics onto the BigDamnThankYou site.

It's been alittle disappointing. The site has been up for almost a month, and there are less than 200 people who have posted a thanks to Universal for making Serenity. I was expecting thousands of people from all over the world. If you haven't added a note, check it out at:

How about offering Pages to do their bidding until such time as we're back on the air, up on the screen, and rising again, along with such whatnot.

I'd definately apply to that deal.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

What would I do?

ANYTHING IT TAKES!

I would give money, drive to the set and act as a lackey, give massages, fetch coffee, intimidate studio execs, whatever is needed.
