RABBAN

When I asked for help a few days ago from the FFF my wife thought I was crazy.. (Alright. My wife thinks I'm crazy anyways but that's another story altogether.)

Ever have one of those things you want and nothing else will do? (Like one of Tristans' Browncoats?)Well, my wife has wanted a little mini-toy poodle in chocolate brown for a year. The gods and the planets aligned for a friend of mine to be in the state where the breeder was of this much desired dog.

Sounds simple eh? Try arranging getting one little puppy from one end of Georgia to another while you're in Kuwait.

We were having a really hard time trying to arrange transportation and I had been through most channels. Finally I had an epiphone. (or at least a little brain activity) I would ask for help from my fellow Browncoats!

When I told my wife my plan she scoffed at the idea.. "Why would complete strangers help us?" Trying to explain that FFF are not like anyone else would have been pointless so I just kept it to myself and put in a call for help, also thinking how wonderful it would be to have one of y'all come through when no-one else would.

Marina came back and said she'd be glad to help. So. This weekend a Browncoat is going over 200 miles out of her way to help another out. If that doesn't prove the power of us I don't know what does.

My wife asked one time why I was up on FFF. "Don't you have any friends?" she asked.

"Yep... I have a lot honey. A whole bunch!"

Many thanks Marina.

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Thanks for sharing that story Rabban. It just goes to show what I have been saying since I found the fanbase back in '02: Browncoats are the best people on the planet.

DONCOAT

We'll make a 'coat out of your wife yet, Rabban. Every time she looks at her new pup, it's a reminder of the shiny goodness that is Flandom.

Nice going, Marina!

MARINA

I just noticed this post when I was checking your profile to see if you'd posted anything in the Blue Sun Room.

Thank you! It's very kind, and of COURSE I'm happy to help. And if it's one more step in bringing your wife into the fold, I'm even more honored to be a part of it

Just can't believe I get to play with the dog before your wife does!

Don't make faces.

Very shiny indeed. Good on ya Marina.
Me thinks that little pup needs a Firefly kinda name... course that would be up to the owner, but the Browncoat connection is worth some thought, no?

Still workin' on it... The wife and children have chosen Trixie... So I console myself on the fact that she's a natural browncoat.

I pushed for Kaylee hard folks.. Woul'dv been perfect for a little mini-poodle.

Marina has been great y'all. Like I'm sure all of you are.
