We have a firefly MUD in the works, still a bit early in the development, but we could use some help, we need people who know the 'verse, willing to learn how to build, competent and have a little skill writing. Anyone who isn't interested in building, we can use testers too. Feel free to come check us out, even if it's just to poke your head in the door, you're always welcome, suggestions are always accepted too.

Hope to see you.

Is this going to be a text-based MUD or Graphical MUD?

It's a text based Multi-User Domain. Based strongly, of course, on firefly. The game starts at the sending of the miranda transmission, the 'verse knows, and is doing something about it. We have very in-depth characters, you can hire a crew, join a crew. We have a very in depth story that every character has the chance to go through, depending on job choice, and choices made in game by the player (good vs evil scenarios). On top of that, everything every good MUD has, killing, story, building weapons, armor, we've integrated the ability to have player-set governments even. It's a wide world, and we need help building it.

If you're interested in building, beta-testing, anything. Check us out. We need people with a wide knowledge of the 'Verse. Everything else is secondary, will to learn, will to help.

See you there, hopefully.

Is this still in the works? The link is parked so I am not sure if it was just dropped or what? Are there any other attempts at bringing forth a firefly mud? I bought the RPG and was thinking of making a mud based on it if anyone is interested. My brother runs a ROM based mud and I helped him in a lot of the building and administration of it so I don't think it would be too hard to get started. I would need some good C coders though. At any rate, if this one is still going to happen, I don't want to compete with it and I would love to be involved in its startup, but if they have scrapped the idea, I would love a go at it.

Well, gus. Things came up for almost everyone invloved, Real life issues. I'm actually posting on this forum from Iraq, and family issues, work issues, everyone seemed to run into something. I'm very willing to get this back up and running, and we already have done some work on it. One of the problems we ran into as well was coders, though. One isn't quite enough, it seems. But Please email me at Phoenixcreations@hotmail.com (name firefly in the subject, so I know it's not spam) and I'll hook you up with my friend, who I was primarily working on the game with. Perhaps the three of us can breathe some new life into a game that's slipped tward darkness.

Stay in touch, don't let us let this die.

MASTERBATES

I'm currently teaching myself C programming languages and JavaScript in preparation for college; I wouldn't want to use someone else's work to teach myself coding for fear of screwing it up, but I may be able to render assistance once I have a better grasp of the language, and would be more than happy to do so.
