CMH- thanks HUGS:) I think RIMG was asking about you coming to Dragon Con because a large number of the imponerables ( last count, me, Magdelena, PR, Tristan, RIMG, Nico, and Penguin) were all planning on it and so he was hoping you'd join our group:)

LA- HUGS how is everything?

PR- are your eyes tired yet?

Tristan- I can see you now at D*C " Uniforms, get your browncoat uniforms. Once you're in uniform we'll be massing on the parade grounds before beginning our frontal assault on the Fox corporate offices."

Well shit, how could I say no to an invitation like that?

I'll go ahead and plan on making it. The only forseeable reasons I wont are:

1) If it happens the same week as Ragnarok. I don't miss out on my foam fighting.

2) I don't have enough money. Hopefully by next year this type of thing wont even be a concern.

3) Military interferences. Never can tell, right? Good thing is, I'm going National Guard to begin with, so chances are I'll be able to work around it.

But, I'll go ahead and drop the... what is it, 50 dollars right now? Whatever it is, I'll pay it in the next couple of days or so, reserve myself a place. I'll let ya'll know when I've done it.

It is a good goal to have, and I think we can make it happen. I don't know what I can do to help (bedsides providing cold, frothy beverages [maybe a refrigerated medic backpack, hmmmm...]) but I am all for it.

LA29 - I love the cloudy, dreary days the best, so I don't see that as a bad thing.

CMH- cool! Yeah I'm on the list, but with the reserve that if I get pregnant in the next little while I can't come because D*C will be right on or around my due date and you're not allowed to fly and such after your 8th month. PLus like I'd really want to go into labor at D*C and have baby G delivered by storm troopers or something...could warp it's fragile little mind

MSG...yep, hawking my wares at D*C! I hope to be able to make a bunch of extra everythings to bring with me...also hoping to make a few sales, but that's secondary.
Frontal assault on F*x....yeah, definitely a good idea!

CMH, very shiny! Let's hope none of those things get in the way. I know that it is the first weekend in Sept. and people start getting there the Thurs. before. It will be a blast!

RIMG, beer at 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning, then a march down PeachTree...yeah, that is something we could do. "Hey, it's medicinal!" hehehe

Msg - thanks for asking -Everything is shiny here these days.I'm actually happily married for the first time in a long time.ANd the kids are doing well.Dylan got an am,azing review from his Teacher , so we're very pleased.ALthoguh I'd still sell my soul to put him private school. So

Wow that was a bit of babble. How are you doing ? Still with the baby making ? Fun isn't it ?

Tristan , If I ever decide on more crazy men yu'll be my first , I promise ! I'm making brisket & mashed potatos tonight. Wanna come over ?

RIMG - I also love the grey days.It appeals to my inner Eeyore.Especially being near the ocean we get wonderful lightining shows .But it does make running around with the space monkeys more difficult. And everyone in NY seems to forget how to behave when it rains. It's like more chaos than usual.'Cause y'know that rain thing really throws some people off.
I might be at DC too.I'm trying to convince Brian that it would be a lovely 10th anniversary present.
But I don't see myself dresing as infantry.I've got my eye on a companion oufit.

CMH - I hope we can meet there. You are the most different person I've ever " met " and you always bring something interesting to the conversation.

Work is way too busy these days. Still popping in to see what everyone's talking about.

Multiple partners: not for me. I'm a one woman kinda guy. Jealousy and all sorts of weird things come up otherwise. I mean...how do you snuggle with multiple people anyway. Or what if they're snuggling. How do you not get jealous?

First impressions: I've been wrong both ways. Though most of the time I stick to my guns. I try to give people a pretty positive starting outlook though that can be turned totally negative with one or two comments.

More than one partner??? I can barely find one who can put up with all of my moods, but even if it was my choice I really dont think that I could do that...but it would be good for my attention needs I guess...now I'm starting to think about it...

When I get a first impression it usually sticks and if I dont like the person then I usually just stay away from them which is bad cause I know I should give them a second chance. The only time I can say that I was wrong about someone is with my current bf when I first met him I could not stand him. Luckily I got over that.

Browncoats all marching together? I always pictured it as more of a casual stroll, with no real formation. Nonetheless, the idea of a massed charge of Browncoats on the F*x office (or the Stormtroopers food supplies) sounds like fun.

From what I've seen/heard/read, the Independents were mostly from the outer planets, although some die-hard volunteers from the Core worlds may have joined up. I'm guessing there were lots of brigades/divisions/regiments, although the only one mentioned by name is the 'balls and bayonets brigade' (unofficial title of the 57th Overlanders) that Mal and Zoe belonged to.

I'm sure that we could even come up with our own unit (complete with insignia and the like) that doesn't get hunted down by the legal departments of certain companies.

MSG - I'm so glad I'm not a woman. You talk about getting pregnant so casually, like "it might happen, it might not". That scares the crap out of me.

Tristan - If you need help planning an assault...

LA29 - Really? I've always considered myself normal. It's just everyone else who's different. And totally rat shit insane. Piercings, tattoos, alcohol... all socially acceptable. But what does it translate to? Putting holes in your body is self mutilation, as are tattoos, but they get leniency because they're "artistic" or "self-experesion" or some such crap. And alcohol? Alcohol is a natural poison. There's no reason on Earth to drink it, but because it's an established "norm", people do it without giving it a second thought.

No my dear, I know you weren't being insulting, but I most certainly am the "normal" one.

Oh and as for the subject of facial hair... FUCK anyone who's anti-facial hair. Growing facial hair is one of the few things men can claim to be almost universally better at than women, so it's one of the last truly manly things left. If this anti-facial hair sentiment continues in America, I'm going to create a bearded mafia to clog the drains of houses and tickle the faces of women everywhere.

Yep. A long, blonde soupcatcher. Grew it especially for Chris. I'm planning on taking testosterone pills and pissing upright tomorrow.

On the subject of tattoos, yep it can seem weird that people would willingly scar themselves with needles and inject ink into the wound so their bodies are marked forever. I can fully understand how people would find it unacceptable.

But it *is* self-expression, and it's self-expression of the most potent kind. We don't choose our bodies. We have limited control over their size and shape. But tattooing allows you to mark your body with something that reflects who you really are. It offers a glimpse of the person within the skin. Done in that frame of mind, it can be very special.

Amen to that one brother. I hated it when I had to have a clean shaven face (or a very specific kind of beard) to work in a restaurant. When I don't have a beard my face feels naked.

ELOISA

Ugh. Here. Maybe?

It's Friday, forGod'ssake; I'm at work till 5.30 then gym then home and I have father and brother coming down tomorrow... AAARGH... I swear to God I'm going to move to Siberia or Canada or somewhere that they CAN'T come and visit me. I mean, I like 18th century drama enough to go to the play with them, but I can't stand the bitching, chivvying, expectations that I will cook whether or not it's my turn, etc, etc. I have sodding work to do, thankyouverymuch, and them being here kills my Saturday, even if my brother is an insanely enthusiastic Firefly nut.

Ahem. Stopped now.

Yeesssss, preciousssessss, Friday not A-OK. Also not helped by general lack of sleep for a fortnight instead of the usual week I'm at by this stage. My sister swears I'm the second least morning person she's ever met - I tend to become alert around two in the afternoon - after her boyfriend, who is basically nocturnal no matter when he sleeps.

My sister, BTW, is almost certainly going to D*C with the rest of you, as her boyfriend is from Atlanta and the only question is whether her immigration papers'll have cleared by then. While I will be stuck in the UK doing my crappy boring job and hating life.

*cries*

TRISTAN

Morning, all!

*dusting himself off*

Wow...it was a long time ago, wasn't it? Geez. A lot of us have changed...me especially. Wow.
Thank you for that, PR.

Ok, so...what are we talking about today?

We are definitely out of the same mould. I need at least eight hours of sleep, and I do 'white and bleary' rather than 'bright and early'. As soon as the sun disappears, I attempt to curl up under a rock until spring. I will consume my own body weight in chocolate unless prevented in winter.

And I can't afford to go Stateside and meet the shiny folk either. Waah! *tantrum emoticon here*

"No power in the 'verse can stop me!"

I'm here RIMG!! Hello Jimi!! I have just got in from a late night of babysitting - and I will be doing more and more of that in the coming months as I save for D*C...

Are you still at work?

Is DTH still here?

EDIT: Hello Eloisa!! Poor you - Honey I get so vexed with people inviting themselves to stay ... well I used to when I was living some distance from home and people kept coming to stay and spoiling all my lovely plans... I don't know anyone who'd invite themselves to stay in such a forward manner and then... oh...

Uh, Tristan... MsG... can you guys put me up for a few nights while I'm in the USA?

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

It was a long time ago, indeed. You know, I remember being bitter when I first joined up, because I joined to distract myself, but I'm amazed at my whininess back then. I've gotten over a lot bitterness!

Tantrum emote for the wonderful AnJL who I wish I could meet in the next year:

Still here. Sort of. I'm at work so I'm peeking in when I get a chance here and there. I miss the posty fun.

'sides, I wanna be here when Chris hands over his man parts. I've always wanted to try those!
