i have a idea about a costume but im not sure if its a good on.

i was thinking about making an independent army costumes combinded with an alliance tac vest and a sword. i know what you all are thinking your think

the alliance but i think it would look real shiny.

all independent and guned out and alliance sword and tac vest.

what do you brown coats think about this?
tell me what you all feel and think about this idea.

As far as combining the Alliance Tac vest with the Independant field uniform, all I can say is spoils of war. Mal swiped an officer's pistol, nothing saying a grunt wouldn't take a tac vest if it was better than what he was issued.

As far as the sword, I think it would really depend where you were planning on wearing it. If you were planning on wearing it on your belt, I reccomend a rapier or cavalry saber. If you were going for the back, something samurai/ninja-esque. My personal reccomendation:

Most of these are generic knockoffs, so be warned. If it's only visual impact you're going for and not a combat ready weapon, these are definately what you're looking for. (I'm personally going to buy one, remove the blade and convert it into a lightsaber handle).

I would most likely go as an Independant soldier, Sergeant most likely. The hardest thing for me to acquire would be a jacket like the one Mal wears in the flashbacks.

If I can find the coat, with, but I don't see me getting lucky enough to find one before D*C. I'm taking a chain mail class, so I plan on having the mail sleves that have been posted on the other thread. I've seen some good deals on the HK-G36 airsoft on eBay, so I'll have the rifle as well.
