I just talked with the parental units. They're gonna get 8-10 inches tomorrow and more snow Saturday & Sunday, and prefer if I stay home

I gotta go check out the link to see where in the U this is gonna be.

EDIT: Where the heck is the Natural Science Auditorium?! There's no bloody directions or anything!

Thanks!! *hugs*

Oh, they had a nice piccy of it and I think I recognise it. I do believe it's where the TARDA2 meetings were held. Some 20 years ago.

*sigh*

Thanks again & hope to see you there!

Parking Map:

The Natural Science Building is across the street from Hill
Auditorium. State Street and North University area. I believe the best parking
would be the Thompson structure or parking at the Power Center
structure.

Sigh. Double sigh, even.

We're covered in ice right now, and later on, we'll be covered in snow. So I'm pretty much stuck in Saginaw. Sure would be a shiny birthday present too. Oh well.

Here in Ann Arbor the bulk of the storm seems to be missing us. Tomorrow's weather is supposed to be chilly (32F) but clear. Maybe you can still make it.

AND SNOW IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR PEOPLE BORN IN MICHIGAN!!!!

Snow means all the better to wear your Jayne hat. I know I'll be wearing mine!

If anyone needs serious help getting here (driving directions, parking, that kind of thing), email me at sarathelaundress@yahoo.com. I work one building over from the Nat Sci building!

Well, got back a few hours ago and had a really good time. I had an even better time than when I saw it in the theater the first time. (Of course, that may be because there were only 5 other people in the theater at the time and those people were all duds!! lol) The auditorium was almost 3/4 full at a capacity of almost 500! (When my friend and I first arrived, there were only a couple of people....including RMMC and her friend. In fact, I was joking with my friend before we entered the auditorium that we would probably be the only people there!)

I think the thing that made it great for me was everybody really laughed at all the right places AND I heard several people saying, "They were right, it WAS a really good movie!" Made my heart feel good!

One more really cool thing to share about this evening....as my friend and I were driving around in circles trying to find the place (the pathetic thing was, we had a map and STILL got lost!), I saw this: [url] http://www.fireflyclub.com/home.htm Dang....we need to have a shindig there next time we visit!

LadySings,

Thanks for the great report on the Serenity Screening. Did anybody GASP at a certain part in the movie? That is how you tell if there are newbies.

Wow, a 500 seat theater 3/4 filled.

And you found a place to shindig too!

LMAO....there was one person in the theater that kept gasping VERY loudly at every intense moment....except THAT one! *shaking head* Of course, when I first saw it in the theater, I was that one person that was doing all the gasping! lol That is the reason I can't watch figure skating anymore. Everytime the skater makes a mistake, I scare my poor dog (who is sleeping on my lap) because of my gasping! Thankfully, I couldn't take him to the theater with me!

Was that the same one who kept squeaking as well from across the aisle?

*waves to LadySings*

My friend and I had an older pair of newbies behind us, whom we had reassured prior to the movie that having not seen FF, they'd not have any difficulties following the movie. They has a blast and the gent seemed to be laughing quite a bit at all the right places, so we may have more recruits soon.

I was very happy to see how many folks there were, as my friend and I were a bit worried when we were the first to show--we were there before the projectionist! From a few of the kids who go regularly, they usualy only get maybe two dozen folks, so as LadySings said, we had quite a bit moe than that.

I was sorry to be unable to go to the sushi place after, but 'twas a bit late by then.

But on the whole it was a great time!
