Why not a different station other than FOX air Firefly?
Why cant they bring it back? So many fans will bring in ratings.

I just dont get it. So many fans love the show but they just dont bring it back. Have you ever seen a cancelled show have so many fans?
What does it take to get a fan supported show back into production?

Hey there,

I am new to the site and the show in general. I just finished watching it for the first time and Serenity, and wow. I cannot believe this show was cancelled, and it just doesn't make any sense to me. I would really love to see what else Joss Whedon was planning to do with this seres. I agree with you!

Yeah problem is that Fox has such a tight grip on Firefly.

With the amount of fan support, easily over 1 million. They could easily make a great show alive once again.

I am really clinging to this video game thing. Just hoping that it will produce something worthy of the series, and if possible spark a new interest in putting the show back on the air. Cause the actors were just great together. Be awesome to have it back.

Why doesn't Sci-Fi channel pick up the series? Maybe they could keep it going?

As was stated a few posts up, Fox has a death grip on Firefly, and they don't like to share! Those Bastards!

That is just my point. FOX doesnt want to anyone to have it but they wont even try to get it running again. And Sci-Fi does pick up ALOT of crappy shows. So even if it didnt really pick up whats to stop from trying? Other than FOX

Firefly was pretty expensive - $9m or so for the pilot episode, for example. The amount of registered fans here is just under 30,000. They would need about 9-10 million viewers for it to be a financial success.

The long and the short of it? Money.

Sci-Fi does have current repeat rights to the show, and will have another eight episode marathon next Tuesday, Dec. 12. NBC/Universal owns Sci-Fi, Universal produced Serenity, so they have a vested interest in the show. Whether it ever goes beyond that depends on so many factors, first of them being FOX's rights either being purchased by someone else or lapsing after a certain number of years.

Please tell everyone about the upcoming marathon on Sci-Fi, watch it yourself, dvr it, write to Sci-Fi and NBC/Universal to thank them for running it, and beg them to produce more episodes or another BDM.
