Hello "Coats" :)

Lots of new recruits have been coming aboard the boat as of late. I want to welcome you all and say that it is truely GREAT to have you here. Now, FFfan.net is about fun and linking up with fellow browncoats who share the same passion for something. It is also about discussion of FF/Serenity. Here's a little something I've noticed about the OoG eps. With the exception of Zoey. All of Mal's crew meet up with the captain on or around Serenity. This gives each crew member not only a connection with Mal but also a connection with the ship.

Kaylee
River
Simon
Book
Inara
Wash
& Jayne

All meet and become Serenity's crew right there at the ship. I bring this up because in the OoG eps all of the crew again return to Serenity without being contacted by Mal and what I believe they feel is certain death. Any thoughts or opinions about this?

Interesting observation. I had assumed he had contacted them, but come to think of it, he was passed out....hmmmm....

Mal: I thought I ordered you all off the ship. I call you back?
Hoban 'Wash' Washburne: No Mal, you didn't.
Zoë: I take full responsibility Cap'n.
Dr. Simon Tam: The decision saved your life.
Zoë: Won't happen again, sir.
Mal: Good. And thanks, I'm grateful.
Zoë: It was my pleasure, sir.

Mal never got to the button to call them back before he passed out.

I think it was loyalty to the captain, their little family, and the ship that brought them back.

I think you're right MrsCobb and not to trounce to much on your namesake But seems that even Jayne didn't put up a fight to return to Serenity.

Mal " Zoey, which one you think tracked us?"

Zoey " The ugly one sir."

Mal "Hmm....Could you be more specific?"

I think that everybody figured that if they were going to die then they were going to die in their home surrounded by the people they love. They couldn't abandon Mal and leave him to die alone, despite what he thinks. He and Serenity are the ones who brought them all together.

No trouncing taken!

Who's to say he didn't come back for his guns? Honestly though, Jayne has a warped sense of loyalty in some instances, but he seems to stay true to those who he considers his family. Why else would he wear such a cunning hat or send money home to his mother?

The way I always saw it was, Zoe came to and found out that they had left Mal and made Wash turn around. Simon was already with them. When they got back to Serenity and found Mal, Simon began fixing him up and Wask called back the other shuttle.

Interviewer: What's your prediction for the fight?
Clubber Lang: My prediction?
Interviewer: Yes, your prediction.
Clubber Lang: PAIN!

I'd like to add this from OoG:

JAYNE: Hey! That ain't... We'da been here first! But
there's something wrong with 'nara's shuttle! She
done somethin' to it, Mal. Smells funny.

I always kinda liked this bit because he seems like he does have some loyalty to Mal and the crew, and also that he was trying to show that he could be as loyal as Zoe.
