HUGS LA... right with you. 2 glasses of wine and I'm well buzzed. 3 and I start having trouble with imaginary conversations ( or so MisterG claims) He says I start talking about crazy unintelligible stuff and then refuse to admit it. Then, of course, I don't remember it the next day:)

good eggnog though:)

Well, I've got natural tolerance (I'm Irish), I have a high body mass, and through months and years of practicing I have worked out how much it takes to get me up there, so I'll get a pint or so ahead.

Kelkhill, those eggnogs were great. I think I might have to go with the one with whiskey. It has that creamy hot toddy taste. Now I'll try some of the NEW Jack Coke that you were offering, LA. I used to drink mass quantities when I was young. I don't drink much any more, but I can sure hold my virtual alcohol.

RIMG, is there a point when you know you've had too much instead of just being a pint or so ahead. Is it the passing out? Just curious.

LA, have you tried eating tons of bread before drinking. Grease and starchy foods are great for helping to absorb alcohol. French fires and hamburgers are helpful before a night of drinking. Although, you should try virtual drinking. I promise it should not have any ill effects.

I can usually tell, either by monitoring intake volume, or more commonly by just a feeling. I have only passed out a couple of times from drinking too much, and those nights were epic.

I think I did all my drinking in my teens.
I mentioned once that I was wild ,right ? I used to keep a bottle of vodka in my backpack just for me.Naughty Albatross I was !
When I hit my early twenties it just changed on me.I've always preferred the smoke.I can last all night and then some with it.

That didn't sound right did it ?

The only drink I can handle these days are margaritas & apple cider with rum ! I think it's the sugar.

RIMG, you'll have to tell us about those epic nights. I can hear you quoting Book, "No, I don't."

LA, stay away from the alcohol. You've had enough experience if you were carrying around your own bottle of vodka. A margarita now and then is just fine.

Chatzy seems to be down right now. I am a sad Browncoat.

Tolerance? I am certain I have done, that's why I don't touch the stuff. Well that and I think it's nasty. Yeah, I'm Irish, but I don't think that makes you automatically tolerant. Speaking of which, I have recently lost my tolerance for dairy, so I can't have nog of any kind. More sadness. I think I need fruit and guarana to make me feel better.

*runs mangoes, oranges, bananas and raspberries through the blender, adding a few guarana leaves (I think it's leaves) for some kick*

Yum yum...

Oooooh - is it 'Heart of Gold'? My very favourite - though 'Out of Gas' is a tight 2nd!! loaned my DVDs to one of the ministers at my church and said that when he's watched it all he can borrow Serentiy - which is what he is dying to see even beofre he's seen Firefly!! He is already a big fan of both Buffy and Angel so I think I have a new convert guys!!!

Now - if this was the ponderables I might ask whether I should give him the address to FFF.net at the risk of him discovering more about me than I might want folk at my church to know...???

*hugs her LA29 back* How are you my gorgeous friend? We're watching 'Heart of Gold' and most of us are either imagining we're Nandi or Mal at crucial points in the story...

I love receiving your email too, Bryce!! And I would never call you 'high maintienence'!!

RIVERISMYGODDESS

mornin' LA.

It was actually VEs idea to close them, but thanks. I know how you like the privacy.

* refreshes his drink, then sets up the TVs so the one in the smoking room and the ones in the bar proper are all showing the same thing, which is Heart of Gold, Zoe and Wash are talking about having a kid, then goes into the smoking room and turns on the intercom so they can talk to people without the precious smoke affecting those who don't want it *

EDIT: LOL Magda, I'd be Mal to all of y'all's Nandis.

I don't doubt it Jimi-bear... I think I will settle for non-smokey bear hugs for now though

Where's Penguin? Has anyone seen Penguin lately?

Rimg - To all of us ? At once or separately ? I know I probably shouldn't ask you that one ...

Well then , thank you VE for remembering to close the curtain ! I try to stay stable but some things just make me go all River ..

Magda - With certain things I can be very demanding ! - have you been around when someone leaves the curtain open ? It's not pretty !

All at once would be neat, though would take a lot out of me, and there is no guarantee that the proper attention could be given to everyone's needs.

EDIT: mornin' Kelkhil

Hey twin brother!! I just sent you a PM - I received your gorgeous girls letter today - my little River is going to love it!! Thank you and thank Laurelin for her part in it too!! And I think your little one is just gorgeous for what she says in it!!

I love our mini-browncoat post!!

Ah... you've got a point there RIMG... though I am sure you'd cope! Yeah - I suppose Mal does have that over you though - just the one gorgeous lady to 'attend to'...

EDIT: No gorgeous LA - I don't think I have been around you when the curtain is left open - but if we are talking about the morning sun streaming into our conciousness when we shouldn't have any conciousness - that is not 'high maintenence'... that's just plain common sense... this would be me if it happened when I was trying to sleep in...

Ok...? Got the picture?

Ah... Kelkhil... with what's on RIMG's mind - I think he needs coffee!
