Not sure we had anything we were discussing on the last thread...

Penguin, you are a Master of the Firsties.

Two in a row!

Everyone seems to have shaken the sickness in my house, and things are in some semblence of normal. The dog is settling in too, and we haven't had one naughty instance in over a week.

When you get here...Happy Birthday Jonny! Go check your thread for my gift (she said coyly...)

EDIT: I see you already did find your gift...and posted just above me.
Wait. Let me get my umbrella out...my post is getting drool on it.

MORE COFFEE...NOW!
Back soon.

Ah, so finally myspace tells me it's JQ's birthday. Happy Birthday!

Whitefall: School is annoying. But the thing is, so is the rest of life. If you can't figure out how to find the little moments in high school, you won't find them after high school. It's perspective...and you get to choose it.

Ack...someone shoot me now. I sound like my mother when I was a teen. When did I turn into her?

Hi Bug! Thank you for both wishes. It's all my fault. I started the advertising campaign too soon.

You don't have any kids, right? Who cares when you turned into your mother, the question is how? Oh, wait. I don't have any kids either. And I say fogey things all the time!

I don't really want to save the world. If I could have a super power, I'd like to be able to read incredibly fast. There's so many books and so little time. It would also help me whiz quickly through some of the extremely long Imponderable threads.

Happy Birthday, Jonny.

The concept of immortality always makes me sad. Yeah, it would be nice to be young and able bodied for a long time, but I don't think I would want to live forever. As stupid as this sounds, I've pondered the consequences too much while watching Buffy. Angel could live forever, the Mayor and his little speech about his wife. Those things really made me sad.

Mav's superpower wishfulness? Telekinesis.

I really hate it when I leave the remote on the
other side of the room, or the Cheez-its in the
kitchen.
Kindof selfish, I know. Not using my powers for
good. But I'm a couch potato at heart.

Wouldn't it rock to be able to get a beer without
getting up?

Sidenote, I actually have a superhero name. A
friend used to call me Karma Girl because I went
through a phase where I never got stuck at red
lights, I would go shopping and get the last one
available of something, that sort of thing.

Somehow, I seem to have lost that good Karma.
I have to sit at red lights like mere mortals
now. But, every once in a while...

EDIT: EWWW Weird! Why did my post get all lined up like that...

Immortality would be very lonely unless there were others whom you cared about who are immortal, too. See what happened to Duncan and Conor? Alone. All Alone.

Exactly. Me, too.

On top of witnessing history, I wouldn't have to worry about getting hurt or killed, which could come in very handy.

I'm already used to being alone, so that bit wouldn't bother me. As for the sadness of watching loved ones grow old and die, easy: don't get entangled in any significant emotional commitments. Although, if it happens, the deep pains of such a sadness helps to remind you that you're still alive. I hear some people need that sort of thing.

Not me, though. No. I am a robot. A ninja robot.

I would hate to live forever. I'd get bored.

My superpower would be to be able to fly. I think that would be cool.

Man this is lining up to be one heck of a year. Now I've got another friend who's all depressed. She wanted to move out of Austin and go attempt a relationship with a guy up north. Now her job has changed and it doesn't sound like they want her to move. She's crying in her office right now. I hope this year takes a turn for the better soon.

...?!?

I can't even fathom the notion of getting bored. There are so many things I want to do and see and try...... Standard life spans are simply too short. (And that's not even mentioning the childish "neener, neener, you can't kill me!" factor.)

Aww... look at how cool this is (it's Friday, people - indulge me):

Superpower? Only one? Hmm... I'll work my way around that somehow. Give me a little bit.

...

...

Still thinking...

...

...

...

Not quite...

...

...

Got it! I would have the ability to conjure food! Then, I could feed the starving, and I wouldn't have to worry about burning myself, or otherwise causing damage to things. I like it.

Immortality's a close second, though. Living forever would be awesome, because you'd end up as that weird person nobody remembers moving into the neighborhood who knows everything. A giant, creepy mansion, sharp clothes, buried treasure: you could do it all! Plus, then knowledge would never be lost, so long as you catologued it.

Now, go play with the bunnies (it's better with the sound on)!
