Anybody have any info if the series will be released over here (region2)?
I would import a region1 set if I could confirm it won't make it to my shores but I don't want to do that only to find it comes out a few weeks/months later :o)

I haven't heard anything about a region 2 set coming out. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't though...

The UK DVD release was originally scheduled for December 2003. This has now been pushed back to May 2004!

Hey, neat! (well, not so neat about the delay - but neat that there's a region 2 disk coming)

Where did you read this?

I know someone who works for Fox Home Entertainment UK. I've been warned though, this may change again closer to the time. Apparently Fox TV product tends to be released in the UK when there's a suitable gap in the schedule and someone on the Marketing team has time to do it. Not a priority in other words (unless it's Buffy or Angel, of course ).

for brits interested in firefly I'd recommed looking at:

http://www.futureent.com/

they sell US R1 DVDs in the UK. and they have Firefly listed for 30 GBP.

I'm german so I'll probably buy there because I won't have to pay customs that way.

if you do have a region 1 DVD player (or regionfree) and don't mind NTSC and/or are too impatient to wait that's probably a good deal.

but I never before ordered there so I can't tell you anything about the service and stuff.

My PC is region-encoded, so I can't watch Region 1 DVDs. So I'm very sad, given that I have Season Three of Buffy on Region 1...
