I had to add this. A friend from Hotel 23 posts Zombie and post apocolyptic themed poetry and really dug on the fact I would send him an FF set to pass around.

http://www.tacticalunderground.us/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2577&start=20

He's written a small piece and given me a small nod for the gesture. Call me a puss but I feel a little inflated over this.

Max is still a mystery.

Oh, I want to add Daniel Craig to my list. He's yummy. I've only seen him in Layer Cake and that was enough get me hooked.

1. Dr. Hannibal Lecter
2. Norman Bates
3. Darth Vader
4. The Wicked Witch of the West
5. Nurse Ratched
46? Hans Gruber

The American Film Institute got it so very wrong. When I saw Die Hard the very first time and watched Rickman's performance, I said this is the very essence of evil. Nobody comes close except Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal, but really he's the protagonist even if we don't want to admit it. (witness the success of Dexter...) I don't know if I like Snape or not. Is he a good guy? Is he a bad guy? At least with Hannibal I'm sure he's a bad guy, I just want him to win...!

Okay kids. I've trying to take a nap for hours now. See you sometime again soon.

Now we're talking about crushes, which is weird, because I'm on both teams and yet neither at the same time (which is funny, because it sounds like we're talking about soccer). And I have too many "crushes" to list, so I'll just ditto everyone else's lists.

Good one! All I could come up with was "Kong"; maybe not "cheezy" per se but not original by any stretch.

So Hellboy makes me gotta ask, how come Ron Perlman didn't make anyone's list. Classically "handsome"? No, but agin I think he's got that presence y'all keep talkin' about.

Nope, pistol means a fiesty lady. Sounds like our hellkitty!

Transatlantic slang terms can be tricky though. I got into trouble on another board when I asked a poster if his pencil was one of those ones with a rubber on the end. A rubber is what we call an eraser! That's all! And sometimes a pencil is just a pencil.

See, I *totally* didn't get it. And the moderator went *nuts* and wiped the post and lectured me about responsibility and little kiddies who could be reading and I was all "What??? What??? What did I do???"

I was paranoid for weeks after that. But I checked and they *never* referred to rubbers in any episode of Buffy up until then (mid season six) or after that I know. Or Angel or any other US show I watched. Which wasn't much, but still. I'm not responsible for slang terms that aren't broadcast here!

Hm, there are many: Wolverine, Snape (ala Rickman, as he seems different than the books), Jayne, Urahara, Kyoya, Chief Tyrol (BSG), Spike Spiegel... ssshhhhhh!!! hush!! shut up! I can't help it! *snikker*

They got on your case about hte word "rubber".

Why our on Public Broadcasting Network has mentioned the word on several occasions and they were talking explicitly about the kind you were blamed for.

Put a helmet on that soldier mister.

They must of been more concerned about you mentioning the word "pencil". Now there is a foul word that should not be tolerated.

My addiction to computer games got the better of me. Damn things take so long to finish. The closer I got the end the more I played. I think I dream about the game in my sleep.

But I am back and trying to catch up.

Morning, all.

It's about 20 in the mornings here, though the 40 mile an hour wind makes it feel cold as the grave. The wind is too lazy to go around so it cuts straight through instead.

Our pup likes to have something to chase when she goes out in the morn, whether it be squirrels, deer, imaginaries or even birds in the air. This morning a calf obliged her, so I had to spend 20 minutes running about in my pj's catching the pup and re-re-educating her that bovines are OFF LIMITS. Cold as a witch's anatomy comments were appropriate afterwards.

Got a call on a grandfather clock that needs servicing this week. That's about 4 or 5 times the coin of the mantle clocks I've been working on. WOOT! Now if we can just get Meagen's pendant auctions to actually start SELLING.....Cheap ass pagans.

I hear what you're saying about all of the pretties available, PR. But I see far too many of us payiong way too much for low-grade pewter or badly made beaded items made in Indian or Pakistani sweat shops. And I hear way too many of us whinging about not being able to afford better and then braying about new video games/ dvd's/ etc. Want something better? Skip a trip to $tarbucks or 2.

Meagen and I try to put aside 3% of our money to buy from Pagan artists/ vendors/ etc. I know that there is no accurate census of any religion in the US, but with what I consider a low estimate of 1 million Pagans do some math....that's something like 1 out of every 270 people in the US. Even if every one of us were at poverty level we're talking billions of dollars in our economy. Do you think Barnes and Nobles stocks all those books for just a handfulk of people? 4 or 5 years ago a B&N rep estimated the buying Pagan populations of the US and Canada at 9 million people. We just like to talk and act as if we're few and powerless.

Sorry about the rant. I get fired up on this issue....

I don't go to fucking Starbucks, I don't buy cheap beaded jewelry or pewter, and I don't act like I'm powerless. I drink tea that's $2 a pot, and I buy very fine silver and gold jewelry. I own six pentacles, two cauldrens, a pendulum, a bird goddess pendent, a spiral goddess pendent, two yinyangs, two ankhs, several beautiful and powerful stones and crystals, and a phoenix or two, and all of them were high quality, meditated on, and make me a happy witch. My wand is a gold-plated rose and I have a second wand of goldstone. There are still dozens of stones, necklaces, rings, candles, oils, clothes, knives, chalices, and on and on and ON that I would like to have, and the thing that pisses me off the most is that our books are in the fucking New Age section and I have to fight for and explain about my sacred days in order to get any of them off. I am treated as if I'm a powerless minority; I don't act it. Not ever.

And that's why I love you.

PLEASE don't think I was talking about you. I was talking about a lot of other people who can't tell quantity from quality and seem to be proud of it. It's a long time rant I've had about the Pagan community and its apparent refusal to be a community.

BTW, what makes me even madder than the New Age section is when the books are in with the hobbies. What exactly does my religion have to do with pet care and vintage tractors? And if my religion is a hobby why aren't the books in the "Religion" section counted as such?

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

You're funny when you're nervous.
Don't worry, though. Nic hasn't blasted anyone with the firehose (yet) and I think he knows I can take care of myself. Hmmmm, wonder what would happen if I asked him to turn the hose on someone... *snicker*
Glad you weren't talking about me, Dug. Didn't really think you were, but me is the only one I can defend. Though I think my friends Cara and Bryce would have a few things to say, too.
