Jonny- mystic knower of crushes..hmmm kind of a snappy title:)

Asorta - that's why we started the water cooler so we could have a good time and say nothing of great import.

OK generally teaching junior high is great, but the drama is really wearing some days. For example so far today I've had one student go berserk and assault a teacher ( because the teacher was verbally and then physically abusive to the kid), another student split his knuckle and required my medical tending because he was having girl friend trouble ( which I spent my 25 min lunch period helping him solve) and then another student require physical restraining in class and an after class conference over his self mutilation ( he cuts himself to feel better). Some days I really wonder how any of them survive, but hey we have solved the girlfriend thing, fixed what was bothering my little cutting child so he's not hurting himself now, and I will fix the whole scary teacher/student thing...so at least I can say I accomplished something today. Now if only I could actually get some grading done LOL

Well off to after school program to help the failing kids fix their grades before they lose credit. Back in a bit:)

However before I go
Jonny this is for you it's my mental picture of you

DESKTOPHIPPIE

Well, here's some pics of my first crush.

His name was Esteban. He was kind and brave and noble and strong and sweet and caring and deep. Sadly, he loved another. Her name was Zia.

Also, he was a cartoon character. But I knew these things could never stand in the way of our love.

I was eight years old. It all went downhill from there.

TRAVELER

Someone say something about Kim Novak?

MsG, I see you had one of your special days. Gotta love Junior High. We call it Middle School in Wisconsin. We always have to be different.
The students in this area are more in to terrorist acts. Bomb threats are the in thing these days. Gets you out of school and into deep trouble. We just had a riot in one of our high school basketball games. The students of the winning school ran out into the court and went bonkers. Fists, chairs and finally the police. Needless to say the school board has banded all students, from that school, from attending any sporting events. They are only allowing members of the player's family to attend the events. Makes for a small turn out. And I thought I was bad when we had squirt gun wars in the library.

In another thread in the FireFly Discussion Forum someone asked where all the Irish are on the series. Actually all the Irish never left Earth. They came to Milwaukee when the heard we had a Tavern on every street corner and we can't get them to leave.

I'm just going on because I am to lazy to read the sixty some posts ahead of me to know what's really being discussed. I just want to say hello and let you know Bell Book and Candle is one of my all time favorite movies. Gotta love the cat.

We're definitely at the point where it's been a year now since I had anything else twixt my nethers. Doesn't really do it anymore. As one of my favorite webcomics recently put it, rice wafers when you want chocolate does not exactly satisfy. I miss touch. A lot.
And I've got something better than a novel... Um, it kind of makes things a bit more frustrating but... *ahem* Nevermind.
And I know a very weird and disturbing fact about candles. Apparently in a lot of places when a man gets a sex change opperation, he's told to regularly, um, put something into the new... orrifice in order to keep it open, and is given a candle. Doesn't seem like the best of options to me, but that's what they hand out. Weird.
Names, names, names. I'm very glad I was not named after anyone in my family. Not just because it gets confusing, but because no one really had the nicest name. Many people think I was named after my grandmother, having such an 'old-fashioned' name, but I was not. My parents named me for the symbol of the coming Buddha (which also happens to be a symbol of the sacred feminine and a really pretty flower that suits my personality perfectly; thorns and all) and my middle name came from their guru.
Can you imagine if my name was 'Shirly Anne'???
Yay for Hobbleit! Grats! (oh god I'm talking like a gamer and I don't even game. Why must I love geeks so much?)
That... sounds like a hell of a day Ms G. Gack!
And Odds, you are confusing me. Who are you flipping off? And what vibrating phone? I don't set my phone to vibrate... That tiny lil vibration can't really get the job done anyhow.
Oooooh, I understand the conversation now. Sorry, still not firing on all cylinders. Mucked-up sleep patterns will do that for ya.
In other news, I woke up at the precise moment I should have been walking out the door. It was a bit of a rush to get to work and I feel ungroomed and not quite human, and I've gotten a ridiculous number of calls tonight. I might go mad. Er, some more...
I think the avatar and banner suit you, asorta, but I'm sorry your profile is broken
See what happens when y'all go on a posting frenzy when I'm asleep?
Ranting on yinyangs things will just fill up a whoole lot more space
I've kind of got a ponderable, but I've talked a lot of it out already. So... WTF is up with exes? There, I guess that's all I need to ask.
Need caffeine... more caffeine, rather...

MsG, I concur with my esteemed fellow posters up there... you're a saint. And teenagers suck.

My sister once told me that junior high (or middle school as california usually calls it also)..... "Middle schoolers try to imitate high school society and get it wrong." And she was not wrong.

8th graders with signifigant others... that scares me. The violence towards teacher thing, yeah that happens if the teacher or the student is bad enough or somesuch.... As for the cutting, I've some experience with that myself, and its been findings that the old cliche about "if you tell someone you want to kill yourself, its just a cry for attention: if you were serious about it you'd do it and be done with it".... well that's not wrong either. I've found that its a sort of frustration that usually leads to it, pent up energy or anger, the need for something to change: blood usually helps people get a sense of themselves again, weird as it may be. But yeah, sure its bad....

MsG wins! WOOO!!!!!!

Btw MsG, you finally posted a different picture of yourself (accidently cause you were with wyatt) in the picture thread! You look cool!

Names: I was intentionally named after NOBODY in the family. This was done to annoy both remaining great-grandparents, and to excise me from any potential future nomenclature-related arguements with regards to my naming. It didn't help, though, that about seventeen different families in a five kilometer area came up with the exact same name that year...

Hey guys, just popping in to say hi before I have to go make my head explode at school.
Yep, I wasn't named after anyone either, which is cool I guess because my family all has pretty generic names...
See you all later!

morning bodies, hope you all are having good days/nights/other ^^

Names is an odd one, depending on who i believe, i was either named after an LOTR character, or the dog next door. i know, it's a tough call.

MIRCEA

Morning everyone. Hope everybody is feeling rested and ready to take on the world.

Names-My parents intentionally named me so that I wouldn't have a common family name. Then they started doing geneology and discover that until the past couple generations it was one of the most common names on both sides of the family.

I think nighttime is dark so you can imagine your fears with less distraction.

Thanks Whitefall. I don't really like that picture because my eyes are all squinty, but Annie looks so cute in it I couldn't resist.

Oh and my kids are 7th, 8th and 9th. The kid with the girlfriend is a 9th grader who is 15 so it's a little less odd for him to have a girlfriend:) Junior high is weird here it contains 7th, 8th, and 9th graders and 10th, 11th and 12th are high school.

Oh happy day!!!! MisterG gave me an early Valentine present. He got me the official Firefly companion ( part 1 since part 2 isn't out) Jewel's stories of the dress in Shindig are hilarious. So happy!!!

Middle school here is 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I think 6th graders are too young to be thrown in with 8th graders. I hope my son survives this Fall!

I used a family last name for my son's first name. I thought it'd be unique, now I hear it everywhere. I'm so pissed!

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

And therein lies the difference between middle school and junior high. So now you all know.
Went to junior high, myself. Seventh graders weren't that popular. I almost feel like sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grades should all have thier own seperate buildings. Maybe not all of them, but really...
Meh. School sucked. The false society it sets up was horrid to endure. I've heard it compared to prison society by all sorts of people, ranging from myself as a seventh grader to a well-educated psychologist.

Hey I'd agree with the prison society thing. It's all about attacking the weak members and being violently opposed to anyone who differes from the "norm" in the slightest way. It's strange that the kids so obsessed with "fair" are also the kids so aggressively committed to rooting out and preventing all diversity....but we're working on it.

Since we had such fun on crushes yesterday...I say we talk about what your anti-crush ( the real life or fictional person you took an instant and somewhat baseless dislike to)...mine is Russel Crowe. I know some people think he's handsome and I'll admit he's a great actor, but for some reason he just makes me irritated and vaguely nauseous.

Glad you can see the prison society, too. And you break it down very well. I'm soooo happy to be out of there. Of course with all the gossip and backstabbing and petty, sugar-coated nastiness going on at my office, it almost feels like I never left, except I only have to see those people a few minutes a day.

Can't think of any I have a baseless dislike of. It usually has to do with their voice (singers) or the fact that they're sellouts (anyone) or both.
Britney Spears
Gwen Steffani
American Idol (or anyone else who got a 'career' in music in just a few months on the boob tube)
Moby (and almost any other repetitive, annoyin techno artist, but especially Moby since he sold the rights to use every single one of his songs in advertising multiple times)
Jennifer Lopez
the Backstreet Boys *twitch*
Too many rappers to name, most notably DMX (talk about an ear-grating voice)
I could go on and on.

Oooh msg. Good one.

Mav's one real anticrush:

Colin Farrell.
You could bathe that man in bleach and I still wouldn't touch him. You could get a social disease just by looking at him.

(There's a really nasty .gif of him on photobucket I could post...bit I'm feeling a bit of decorum this morning. )

Howdy all! I spent yesterday at a conference for our clients regarding COBRA regulations. It was a BLAST[/] I tell ya. (Actually, it wasn't too bad. Speaker is hilarious, but 8 hours is a LONG time to discuss COBRA, HIPAA and FMLA...especially when I've been to the conference before. Eek.

As a former teacher of 6th grade at an elementary school, I will say that some kids are ready for middle school and should stay at the elementary school for another year (or two, but that's not an option. ).

And to Mav's super secret post about horse's galloping: I just have to say that's a piece of fiction from those romance novels. I've heard tell of a few women enjoying themselves, but it all involved a specific kind of saddle and some concerted effort. The majority of us riders will tell you that the only sensation involved in the nether regions is usually pain.

Rugbug, that's hilarious!!
Like I said, though, I want attention for more than just my nethers, anyway

I can't be the only one who feels that way? There's more to it than the nethers....

I need to shower, but I sliced my thumb open on a bag of dried fruit. Yes, laugh at me, for I managed to cut myself on a plastic fruit bag. It's like a papercut, only deeper. It is going to sting so bad!

See you in a bit if I don't pass out asleep... (oh please let me pass out; I don't want to oversleep again)

and of course the bruising Rugbug. Let's not forget the bruising:) Yeah I was never sure how the whole horseback self gratification thing was supposed to work. Only pleasure I've ever gotten is just the joy of riding:)

PR- I still think all of us should show up and hold a coven meeting in your breakroom...just to see the looks on the women's faces:)

Mav- ok now you have to post it, 'cause I always figured he was getting a bum rap because he drinks a lot and fights a lot ( and come on he's Irish so like that's a huge surprise)

Deepgirl- cool sweety as long as you enjoy it exhaustion can be fun:)
