Check to see if you have a infrared port on your computer you can find out by going to the control panel on your computer.

If you don't have a inrfared port then you can buy a usb infrared port like myself.

Next check to see if your phone has inrared port then just send your file down the inrared port to your phone(it has to be extremely close to the infrared port of the computer.

Should be done.

...how do I get it onto my phone?

Actually, the easiest way to get a ringtone onto your cell phone is to point the phone's Internet browser at the URL, and then download the tone to your phone. Virtually all cell phones have Internet browsing capability these days, including the ones they give away for free for signing a 2-year contract.

Where you're likely to run into a little trouble is if your phone won't play MIDs as a ringer. Some older phones require a specific (proprietary) format for audio file playback. In general, MIDs have been deprecated, since some cell phones won't play a MID that's got more synthesized instruments (voices) than the phone has. Another problem: Some phones won't play a file that's larger than, f'rinstance, 100KB, and MIDs tend to be large...

Good luck, y'all.

Respectfully,

zoid
