Sounds like the right place to me

I've been working a LOT the last year, so I haven't exactly had time for romance. I had expected to be immersed in study this and last weekend, but the boss actually cut short my study time and got me to do my exam (excel expert) early. Thankfully I passed, so now I have time on my hands. No way am I going out this weekend, same way I didn't last weekend. It's too expensive around Valentine's day! Besides, it's all couply stuff and I'd feel a bit silly. So last weekend I stayed in and made funny Valentine's Day banners instead, which I've been posting in the Blue Sun Room. Since I don't have a fella I figured I'd share the love with the boardies

As much as I love CMH, its funny to hear someone say he was right. As for the flirtiness, I don't mind in the least DTH. I'm done with the hard part of my day so the concentration is not so important now.

MSG, I find it funny you picked AVP and you Mr picks light comedy. Seems to me there is some compromise for taste in every relationship. My bestest friend tells me that I would be hard finding someone that compliments me. I like almost everything.

Most memorable Valentines Day (or VD as I prefer to call it)...
They all sucked. I always ended up either celebrating late due to distance or celebrating by myself.
Now ain't that a lovely visual.

At least you guys get to celebrate, though I am sure I will do some celebratin' of my own come V-day.

I will have to work, however, as it is the busiest day of the year for us (followed at a close second by Mother's Day). I'll be gettin' couples drunk all night, or helpin' the single folk drown their sorrows. Fun. At least I already have plans to take April 20th off.

Jonny- hey mango bbq sauce is a topic for anywhere!!

DTH- have an anti Valentines - I did this one year. I bought something great to cook for myself ( seafood) and a ridiculously sinful dessert, I got some great bubble bath, new sweats, and a new movie I wanted to see and I was my own anti valentine:) It was great. I had a bath, put on soft fuzzy sweats and watched a great movie. Hey that sounds good, maybe MisterG would let me do that:)

A crazy day, made even crazier by my Boss, his wife, his daughter (all work here), my nutty co-worker...the list goes on.

Can't you folks see I'm up to my twins in orders???

Time for me to go - expecting a snowstorm and I need to replenish the Bugles and CheezIts. Need to lay in a supply of Ho-Ho's, too - a family getting snowed/iced in tradition.

EDIT: Husband & I decided long ago Valentine's Day is a made up holiday, and we don't buy each other a thing. Not even a card. It truly makes it much less stressful.

I think I keep breaking the board.

Valentine's Day? No plans in my world, just the usual trip to the gym. Oh, and I'm house-sitting, so I will be shoveling some manure in the evening, while I clean up after the horses and donkeys. That's new. While I may have to shovel some shit, they do have satellite, so maybe I get to watch a movie. (watched Little Miss Sunshine this weekend. What'dya know, the end scene was filmed at the Hilton in my hometown. I was all "That's not Redondo Beach. That's the Main Street on-ramp by the Hilton at the beach. Hey, they're driving on the Promenade, you're not allowed to do that!")

Not to get all pathetic, but I can't think of a good Valentine's memory. They've been that memorable. Ha.

And I'm ignoring the NVG/DTH celebration, but you guys go right ahead.

But, chemistry is everything! It's how your cells work, it's how we make fire... just like physics and biology (and, increasingly, computer science) it's important to have some sort of understanding about the world we live in and how it works.

I find V-Day to be a useless holiday - what does it say that we have a whole day for "I love you"? Like we need to be reminded to say it, or something. Really... And, as far as high school, all the "I'll love you forever" crap (that's right, crap!) is grr!

Being sick makes me tetchy.

Beltaine is a bit more important to me than Valentine's. I'm still not thrilled at the idea of being alone and at work on Wednesday, though.
Especially with you all talking about it. Is my own frustration not enough? I gotta be hit with all yours?
*muttermuttermutter*
Memories? Hmm. I have never had a good Valentine's Day. I've had some amazing Beltaine celebrating, but Valentine's has always been very blah. First one I had a boyfriend for he was not a very good boyfriend. I got some makeouts and call from my friend (and future boyfriend and Ex#2) who wanted to complain about being single. Fun times. Next one, when I was with Ex#3 (of doom) I fought with my dad and he fought with his parents and we just drove around and it was kind of quiet. I guess that wasn't too bad, except there was all that tension from fighting. Then the next year he was in the hospital.
Yes, I very much prefer Beltaine (which you laymen might know as Mayday) That's my lover's holiday right there. There's all kinds of fun energies around that time. Spring and fertility and... *ahem* Yeah, I hope I can look foreward to some of that. Shutting up now.

Illegal imigration troubles, eh? Can we get some putty over here. (Oh, stop flaming before you start. This is not RWED, and I'm certainly not serious. No less serious than Carlos Mencia anyway.)

So Beltaine, is it? Alrighty then. But first to all you Anti-Valentine folk, if it's about the money to you, you aren't doing it right. It's no different than Christmas (Yule?) or Easter (Ostara) or Halloween (Samhain). You can let yourself wallow in the evils of commercialism (of which there is not, nor shall there ever be, a shortage) or you can immerse yourself in the true spirit of the thing. (If you don't have a lover handy at Valentine's be your own. If you're not a kid at Halloween or Christmas, what do you do? Might be a good time to FIND a Valentine...Happens at Weddings all the time so why not?)

Hey, has anybody noticed how conspicuously absent MsG has been today? I have a feeling that the reason is she's probably trying to help her class deal with the mall shooting that happened in Salt Lake City last night. Not to be outdone, there was another shooting in Philly at a Navy Yard. I wore all black today but I hadn't heard of either of these stories until I got to work. So, yeah, I'm a little weired out.

aaah it ate my post!!

Deepgirl I am so glad you like it:)

OK in the spirit of anti-valentines I say we all tell our funniest worst date story:)

Here's mine. An accquaintence of mine had some guy that just wouldn't leave her alone. So she decides to deflect the guy by giving him my number. He calls me several times and, being really too nice to just say get lost creep, I agree to meet him at school. I drag a few friends along to the meeting and the guy is all over me. We've just met and he's trying to have me sit in his lap, hold his hand, etc.. I'm trying to be polite and yet get across the it's nice to meet you potential friend, but never call me again and it's not working. Luckily one of my favorite guy friends ( named Jeff) walks by at the moment. He sizes the situation up quickly and grabs me away from the guy and plants a huge kiss on me and says" honey you ready to go" ( I should probably have explained Jeff is 6'3" and 200 pounds of muscle) I tell the guy it was nice to meet him and tell him he's welcome to join my circle of friends.

So, how is everyone? I'm pondering upon my role in this whole romance thing and I begin to wonder if it's my place to be romancing or if I might just be a breeder rat for the great scientist.

That and I can't get Monica Bellucci out of my head thanks to a less than mature discussion on another board.

Honestly. I think she's one of the hottest on the planet (therefore my 45 is named after her).

2)
To quote the Hero of Canton, "I'll be in my bunk."

I agree with Lady Luna with the exception of Milla.

I like Monica the most because above most other actresses she is well spoken, passionate, and sincere. All the gorram beauty in the 'verse don't mean monkey shit unless it is matched with that.

And I was reminded of the small part in Bram Stokers Dracula by someone. She is definately someone dreams are made of.

Sorry, NVG, but my jump to the worst conclusion alarm went off and it took me a while to rein it in. As soon as I did, I posted, not considering the effect it might have on the rest of you. I’m just happy to read the Georgia Peach posting again.

She's pretty...pretty.

EDIT: And I admit to my own impure thoughts on another board over certain men on the Galactica. *sigh*

Where are all these PUSF posts and threads going on?

And don’t forget MB was the sexiest Mary Magdalene ever and as well as the Mirror Queen. (she did first catch my attention in Tears though) Hoo-hah.

That was the other part I was tryin' to remember. Wasn't that Brothers Grimm? Very tasty. Honestly, I'd like to see her in something a little more dramatic. But it sure is hard to hide her physical beauty.

STOP IT STUPID BRAIN!!!

Eating a tamale because I'm hungry, not to distract away from the MB. (Yeah right)

OOh! That's fun MSG! My best time was .188. But, I want to try it with my left hand, as I'm left-handed. Too lazy to switch my mouse around right now, though.

Stupid, game. The darts don't fire when you hold the cursor on top of the sheep.

Double post pleasure, Double post fun,
Double post, Double post, Double post gun.

(You know, now that I wrote out the ditty, I am annoyed because "Double post" appears three times in the second line. Isn't that a "Triple"?)

That's counter-intuitive. I wanna play Whac-A-Mole! It's much more cathartic.

Travis sit down... no Suzy don't touch that... Charles what did I say...Pete the answer is still no...Gabe you need to write complete sentences...No Autumn no matches now give them to me...Ok who took Cesar's pencil...That's fine good job Sarah...Esmerelda great answer now be sure to start the next paragraph with a space... ( all said rapidly without pause and accompanied by moving swiftly to the offending child and on to the next) See whack a mole:)
