So, this has puzzled me for awhile now..

How did the crew get the various bits of furniture into their respective bunks? Like chairs, tables, dressers and even a double bed.

Because you aint fitting them through the little ladder door things... any ideas?

Same way I got my Futon into my room, disassemble, take in, reassemble.

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Though, piece-wise is a better explaination than I had (which was none).

Good question! It's the little details that make something real.

first there was the bed, then the ship was built around it. :)

I think the dis-assemble re-assemble thing is the most likely explanation. (Dis-assemble, Stephanie!)

The old Navy salt in me is compelled to say that a "bunk" is a bed and a "cabin," "stateroom," or "quarters" is where the bunk lives. (Which makes Jayne's "I'll be in my bunk" comment both dirtier and funnier.) Though perhaps in the 'verse they use "bunk" for both.

It came with the ship. They built Serenity around the furniture!

The only large pieces of furniture that I recall seeing are the beds, and they're probably built into the rooms.

It's certainly conceivable that the ladder/hatch, as well as parts of the surrounding deck and bulkheads might be disassembled in order to move something bulky inside. This crew doesn't strike me as quite sentimental enough about furniture to go to all that trouble, though.

The bunks and the desks fold down out of the walls, as do the sanitary facilities. The Firefly ships have that 'flatpack' look to them, standardized units that bolt into a frame. Serenity has three small crew bunks (one of which we have never seen into) and two larger ones (Mal's and the Washburne cabin).

Personally I think they used the teleporter.

Either that or they were able to get them out of the replicators in their rooms.

I heard that when you play the Reaver scenes in the Big Damn Movie backwards, the Reavers' growling become a voice explaining all the plans Joss originally had for Firefly in Swedish.

'Transylvanian Concubine' by Rasputina. It's the cello. Great stuff.

If you want to know how
To fly high, then go now
To the place where all the concubines

Meet and converse with them
Marvel at their pale skin
Wonder how they chew on their pointy

Teeth and hair are beauty
They know it's their duty
To be countess in their hearts and their

Minds that have to whisper
See in them a sister
Look into their eyes and you'll become

Transylvanian Concubine.
You know what flows here like wine.

Sorrow is their master
Cackling with laughter
Now he's having just one piece of

Cakey is their make-up
Catholics try to shake up
All the things that form their lives, but they're

Dead, their sighs, their songs
They know what they do is wrong.
Stay here with us, it's just time.
Transylvanian Concubine.

Candelabra's lighted
Satan has been sighted
Never has there been an evening like

This is what they wanted
Always to feel hunted
You can never be too rich or too

Thin. The blood has run out.
Fangs ruin any cute pout
Morning has come now they've flown
What have you learned from what has been shown?

Yes a global corporation where all the products are put together with really tiny screws. And one screw always gets lost until you step on it in your bare feet in the middle of the night. That would be enough to make anyone whimsical in the brain pan...

I don't know if this question has been answered this way yet but let me just say that a lot of the furniture I buy comes in boxes unassembled. Many times with lables saying "Made in China"

Maybe this is how the "Blue Sun" empire is starting out.

Anyhoo, might be how they get the stuff in their bunks.
